Pros: Installed two of these very easily into my CineRAID CR-H212, very quiet, keep low temps, have proven reliable thus far. Can't beat the price either.

Cons: Extremely slow! This thing performs like those old 4200RPM drives from ten years ago, it's totally pathetic.
The 500GB disk from the other big HDD company in my previous Lenovo laptop blows this thing out of the water.

Other Thoughts: This came with my Lenovo IdeaPad P400 Touch laptop from Best Buy. I'll put an SSD in at some point...

Pros: Got 4 of these running on my compact Synology NAS. I replaced the 5000 gig drives for these and they owrk fine. Not a bad batch. Passed all S.M.A.R.T. tests with flying colors

Cons: None so far.... Maybe they run a bit hot? But does not seem to be an issue.

Pros: Works great as the replacement for the 160 GB hard drive my PS3 slim came with. Now I have all the storage space I could ever need, and as an added bonus I've noticed my game data saves and loads more quickly than before.

Other Thoughts: If you're doing a PS3 HDD swap, be sure to go to Sony's website afterwards and follow their instructions for updating your software via the console's USB. It's easy, and your PS3 won't be able to use your new drive until you do.

Pros: Great upgrade to the Ps3,i had a dinky 40gb hd which i accidentally formatted and i lost all my saves and bookmarks. I just wish sony put a 120 gb in the ps3 to begin with and i wouldn't have had that problem.

NOTE: Product is not a Samsung but a seagate drive but just as good.

Pros: Well just seeing that Samsung and Seagate are the same drive, who build for who is not known.
Both Seagate and Samsung have same name Spinpoint, when asking for warranty it goes to Seagate. Anyone out there experience this?

Pros: Cheap when $69.99, reliable (so far), quiet, highly recommended. When backing up many GBs of data, it will take some time. I start at night and let it finish the next day.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased 7 of these from Newegg over the past 3 months. Only had problems with 1. Returned to Newegg and the replacement works fine (first time I have ever returned an item to Newegg and their response was great). I have used these mostly as external drives in enclosures to back up photos, music, and documents. I NEVER TRUST BACKUPS TO 1 DRIVE. I ALWAYS BACK UP TO 2. I installed 1 in my Dell D630 to handle movies that I copy off of the DVR. Not quite as fast as the original 160GB 7200RPM but OK for what I am doing. The 1 that I returned showed problems when checked with Acronis Drive Monitor and CrystalDiskInfo (both free programs). These drives are only for USB2. If you open up a USB3 portable drive as I did, you will see that the USB3 drives have a different interface than the USB2 drives. They don't work in a USB3 enclosure. Also, you will need to format and create a folder with these drives. They come raw. I use Partition Magic for this. When you can catch these for $69.99 they are cheaper than a "ready made" portable drive. Newegg includes an enclosure with some offers. If you purchase an enclosure, make sure it is for 1TB drives. I found that they may not fit in enclosures that are rated below 1TB (too long).

Other Thoughts: So... been using one for most of a year when it crapped out- my computer started having random freezes/crashes when this puppy was attached- and seatools would refuse to even run SMART diagnostics. So I did the RMA dance with seagate- throwing another ~$20 bux into the aether to get... yes, a refurb. A couple months later, after minimal use (filled it up... used it occasionally...maybe a dozen hours) yep- same deal. No wonder they're giving them away with external boxes- you don't want your machine depending on this unit. Not worth another $20 bux to get another refurb replacement.

Pros: 1. 70$ for 1 terabyte (purchased with promo-code so YMMV)
2. average speed for a 5400 rpm drive
3. not doa like so many people stated in the other reviews.

Cons: 1. Noisy as F**K(when reading/writing) but It's not so bad.
2. 2 yr warranty instead of 3.

Other Thoughts: At first I thought this drive was just gonna end up being one big hole in my pocket, but hopefully this thing lasts me a good long while, and WORD OF ADVICE, DON'T BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO WEASEL THEIR WAY OUT OF REPLACING WHAT'S BROKEN.
