4 out of 5 eggsLove it.

Pros: Plays dvds and music from cd or dvd in drive to all mobile devices. Watch a movie on your droid, or tablet! Got dvds that arent ripped, play them on the smart hub.

Has a usb plug for extra storage, so plug in a usb hdd or flash drive, wirelessly back up your tablet, or play all your videos from the hdd through the smart hub. push and pull content from different sources and have them in one central location. No router needed. Built in wifi works if in the same room. no plugs or removing micro sd card from my tablet or phone. Just backup via the smart hub and clean my sd card. Love that.

Cons: Doesnt work right out of the box. It seems samsung didnt give it enough press, so the drives sat on the shelves at Took me 2 minutes browsing for the newest firmware, download firmware to a usb thumb drive takes about two minutes, then plug thumb drive into smart hub. The smart hub does the rest once powered on.

After reboot put in a dvd and enjoy. DONT TRY OTA firmware download to smart hub. Download to usb thumb drive and your done. NO pc required. Did all this from my android phone and tablet.! Take that windows.

Other Thoughts: Doesnt work just on usb power, needs to be plugged into wall wort to work.

3 out of 5 eggsFun toy but some compromises required

Pros: Reads optical and flash media wirelessly
Writes optical and flash media wirelessly
Does both on the iPad
Multiple devices can connect simultaneously
USB power cord and A/C adapter
Includes QuickStart page and CD with manual

Cons: Connects over WiFi, not Bluetooth
No portable battery
No car charger
No on/off switch
Doesn't play DVD menu (plays tracks raw)

Other Thoughts: I bought this to use with an iPad, so that's the perspective from which I write.

What a cool gadget to show your friends! Yet another Apple device restriction (laptop-like optical writer) has been surmounted. However, for the life of me I can't figure out why this isn't a Bluetooth device. As it's WiFi, you have to disconnect from your network to change to this device's SSID.
You're essentially logging on to the Smart Hub, obtaining an IP address via DHCP just like it was a router. The advantage is that more than one device can access it (however, only one can watch a DVD at a time, so the purpose is somewhat defeated). The disadvantage is that you're off the 'net since the iPad thinks it's still using WiFi for that.
At first I thought the hub was A/C only, but since it includes a USB cord, a slight benefit is that it works as a wired USB device without the A/C adapter. However, the A/C adapter outputs 4A @ 5V, so you may be able to rig something portable to power the radio.

1 out of 5 eggsNo instructions?

Pros: None

Cons: No instruction manual, sheet of paper or even on the box. A definate "plug and pray" device!

Other Thoughts: I got this via a special deal here on Newegg. I guess it's going to stay in it's box on the shelf, as I can't seem to get it to work fully.
