5 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for

Pros: Reliable! I have had my Apricorn 250gb ext for about 5 years now and it is still kicking strong. You pay a little more for these drives, but they last, unlike a few other big name brands I've burned out over the years...

Cons: none - quality makes up for cost.

Pros: You don't need to plug anything into the outlet, it powers off your computer. It is very compact, looks cool and runs fast.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little drive

Pros: Fast, quiet, simple to use, no separate power cord to fool with.

Cons: On older, pre-USB 2.0 systems, or if you are using an add-on USB card in your machine, you may have to use a double USB cable (which is included) in order to get enough juice to power the drive. Not a huge deal; just a little inconvenient because it ties up two ports.
But if you are using a mobo with USB 2.0 built in, it should work fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drive

Pros: Small, fast, quiet, and stable. Very portable.

Works in my Vista desktop, my XP laptop, my Ubuntu desktop, and my EEE-PC without need for extra drivers.

Doesn't need external power. Includes a two-port USB adapter in case one USB port doesn't supply enough power, but even my low-power EEE-PC is enough to power it from a single USB port, although I haven't tested to see how it affects the battery life when plugged in.

Comes with a USB extension cable which is generic enough to use with other devices as well.

Cons: You're paying extra for portability. If you don't need it to be portable, you're better off buying a bigger (in physical size) drive with higher capacity for the same price.

The cable folds around the drive, which can't be healthy. I'm a little worried that eventually something inside the cable will break. That wouldn't be a problem if the cable were separate because you could just replace it, but if this one goes, the whole drive is useless.

Just make good backups and plan to buy a replacement drive in a couple of years. I'm not docking a point for the cable because so far it hasn't been a problem.

Other Thoughts: Forget inches or centimeters. This thing is slightly larger than half the size of a CD jewel case, although about twice as thick.

The built-in encryption doesn't work with Linux, so I reformatted and used TrueCrypt instead.

5 out of 5 eggsexactly as i imagined

Pros: size is small for 250 GB
right out of the box, no need to install drive
USB cable hides on the side
comes with case and expansion cable
2usb to one for more power if needed
price was very good, actual is worth a lot more, including tax, rebate, and shipping.
got it the next day it was proccessed

Cons: when it says 250 GB, it means 250,000,000,000 bytes, which is actualy 232 GB, it depends on formating and it says this in the catalog it came with

Other Thoughts: great product, size of a wallet
