3 out of 5 eggsBACK UP YOUR DATA

Pros: Portable and secure, looks cool when you punch in your code in front of others

Cons: Hardware encryption is not necessary

Other Thoughts: I had this for a few months and it worked great. I was waiting till I upgraded my NAS to back up the files from this drive to that. When I finally upgraded my NAS and pulled out this drive to hook it up to my laptop to do a network backup of the files, it literally failed on me RIGHT THEN. I tried calling Apricorn support but there was nothing they could do. And because all my data was hardware encrypted on the disk, I could not do any file recovery from it.

Lesson learned: don't let this drive be a single point of failure. Make sure you have a backup of the data elsewhere. I will never use a hardware encrypted drive again. There are other software based alternatives, like TrueCrypt. You really don't need this drive's features.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it is supposed to

Pros: Always works. The benefit of this one is you can access the hard drive when the PC is booting up. The drive just needs power. I have other secure drives that you log on from the PC when it is booted up. This one is very flexible. It has worked flawlessly for a year.

Cons: It wasn't free

5 out of 5 eggsNice and easy protection

Pros: Very simple to use and effectively secures data at a very high level. Perfect for transporting voluminous data in an efficient physical size. Works from powered USB just fine.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: All users have access to the same data so I am not sure what the benefit is of having up to 10 password. Perhaps each individual finds it easier to remember the password they chose.
