Pros: Like the other guy said... quite. It emails me every morning telling me it's ok. I do have to take my Black n Decker cordless dust vac to it every month because it's just a box, but the dang thing has been running non stop for almost 230 days.

Cons: The only con I can think of is that it doesn't dust itself off.

Other Thoughts: Don't bother with the USB port. Like NAS drives at work, it's where you back up your backup. Yeah right, back up onto a flash-drive. Maybe if I HAD to. I thought it was a com port.

Pros: For the cost of two 1tb drives you're getting a functional NAS that sucks about 11 watts of juice. Granted this is a refurbished box but just the cost alone for drives simply pays for the NAS.
Fired it up, created some shares, updated the firmware, and pushing 20MB/s on a mesh based network to store files. Sure the interface is clunky, but I might visit that once in a blue moon since it is simply holding files on my network share. I'm not hosting mumble on the poor thing nor am I expecting it to jump through a messload of flaming hoops. To utilize it to slap up some files in a dir and access 'em on the network is the main goal and so far... it is doing it.

I say give it a go... worst case scenario you come out with 2 1Tb hard drives which you can slap up in another NAS experiment. (ZFS anyone...???) And still come out ahead.

Cons: Interface is clunk-o-matic.

Other Thoughts: It is pretty quiet... I'll give it that. Just built an UnRAID box and my wife is about to disown me due to the fans howling. But this thing is a whisper.

Pros: Changed it to Raid 1 and have so far, had not one single issue. Have a lot of photo's and information I was just asking to lose. Came with Barracuda SATA drives. The entire thing is hardly larger than the two hard drives side by side. Interface is really responsive using Firefox. Quite pleased. Looked unused and "smelled" new... love it.

Cons: Didn't have the USB cable, only the ethernet. Went to Best Buy and they didn't have the male to male cable either. No documentation. Had to figure out the IP address it took by using my router lan stats.

Other Thoughts: When switching to Raid 1, it took hours and hours for it to finish checking itself. Ended up going to bed and it was done in the morning.

Pros: Very low price, $.01 more then 2 1tb drives
Works as it should
Easy DLNA setup
Easy DLNA updating
Easy to access web portal
easy to pull drives

Cons: none so far.

Other Thoughts: I was looking to get two 1TB drives, but found this refurbished for $.01 more, It shipped with Samsung drives in it (I have had good experience with Samsung) It was raid 0, it was easy to change to raid 1.
If these are still avalible for this price next month I will probably buy another.
