5 out of 5 eggsMassive Storage in a Compact Design

This review is from: BUFFALO DriveStation Duo 8TB (2 x 4TB) USB 3.0 3.5" External Hard Drive HD-WL8TU3R1 Black

Pros: -Very large storage for such a compact unit
-Runs in a Raid 0 Configuration for one massive, convenient data library, or Raid 1 for a backup mirror.

Cons: -Overheated one time in a ventilated space; don't know why, but didn't cause any damage.
-Still a pricey buy; maybe give it some time and let the technology mature.

Other Thoughts: he unit itself is rather compact and light-weight, making it something special considering 8 TB is a massive amount of data storage. For those looking for an end-all-be-all for their storage needs, you could have a single, small unit which holds your entire data library even if it is a large one, and have a backup of it right in the same container. Technology may not have progressed to the point where these things are completely portable and don't require being plugged into an outlet to operate, but if you want a non-obtrusive, powerhouse storage device for your work center or home, then this is a pretty cool, albeit pricey, little miracle.
