2 out of 5 eggsHuge oversight

Pros: NAS works fine as expected

Cons: FAILS to restart on power outage.

I researched the Buffalo user forums and confirmed this. The forums alluded to using a compatible UPS, but does not list what UPS models are "compatible" in the manual or the Buffalo website.

Other Thoughts: Huge oversight by Buffalo.

4 out of 5 eggsGood drive lacking most basic feature

Pros: Excellent NAS. It was relatively easy to set up, and the iSCSI. It worked just fine with my VEEAM ware back up software. I have had it operating for a year now.

Cons: It will not restart on power failure. I am shocked that this most basic feature is not part of the firmware. There doesn't seem to be a setting in the GUI that addresses this either.

Other Thoughts: Researching Buffalo's website to see what they have to say.

Pros: *Both simple and advanced interfaces with sensible defaults

*Informative display
*UPS support

Cons: *Fewer advanced applications than the competition
*No eSATA
*Need a screwdriver to swap drives

Other Thoughts: Overall a pretty good station to work with.
