3 out of 5 eggsDoes the job!

Pros: Does what it is supposed too. As a USB Drive... Works very well.

Cons: Dirt slow as a network drive. Set up could be a little tricky if your a novice. No NTFS support. Loud!

Other Thoughts: The drive does the job. It streams to my other PC's (wired or wireless)fine. When you are ready to transfer files to it USE THE USB! Network file transfer is VERY slow! I have had it for 6 months and have had no problems with it as users below.

3 eggs!

2 out of 5 eggsNot there yet

Pros: Great usb2 drive.

Cons: I thought I'd be getting something that worked relatively well as a cheap NAS, boy was I wrong. Locks up all the time, actually came without the hard drive screwed in, lost all my data oncem dog slow networking, and no support at all.

Other Thoughts: Dont buy this, spend your money wisely and build a cheap raid setup.

1 out of 5 eggsNew firmware release.

Pros: Can change FTP port.

Cons: Everything listed in previous review.

Other Thoughts: They have released a new firmware since my last review. They changed nothing except for adding ability to change FTP port. Drive still contains false advertisement, and all defects/bugs from previous versions. Now there is a 400GB version, same firmware, same false advertising.

1 out of 5 eggsBAD PRODUCT

Pros: lights work!

Cons: Device locks up and needs to be reset every time I have to use it. Support is terrible, there are no firmware updates to fix this.

1 out of 5 eggs2nd review, honeymoon's over

Pros: No pros. This drive is junk.

Cons: Unfortunately, the drive no longer does as advertise. Makes me wonder if there is a timer in this hardware. These cons started showing up on 2nd day of use.

1. You can only use FTPD or window share, you cannot do both because the drive will lock up.
2. The FTPD limits your transfers to under 100kb/s total!
3. Drive will not allow windows to reconnect on boot w/ correct password.
4. After renaming the device, it still can be referenced with it's factory name Storage-xxxx
5. Unrar a 300MB file takes over 10 minutes on the drive, and under 30 seconds on the computer ... This is a drive issue.
6. Copying files take over an hour when they should only take minutes.
7. You can not stream music and videos (on even one computer)!! After open of file, it takes close to 5 minutes to open, then it studders when streaming.
8. The fastest way is to transfer files via FTP and not windows copy. Another drive bug.
9. You cannot set the ftp port, manual claims you can, hard drive states other

Other Thoughts: There are no firmware planned to fix these horrible bugs. I cannot recommend this drive to anybody as it is 100% false advertising. These are 100% show stopping bugs. Basic use is impossible. Demand a refund if you made the mistake of buying this junk.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome so far!

Pros: 1. This sucker is fast! I have it directly wired to a 16 (100m)port switch, and this sucker maxes out it's bandwidth both internally and externally via ftp and windows share!
2. It is quite and stays cool.
3. Can stream music and videos to three PCs simutaniously (sp?).

Cons: 0. What cons? This sucker does exactly as advertised.

Other Thoughts: 1. Newegg rules. This is my first newegg purchase, and I am well pleased.

2. I will never go with Fedex again. I paid for 2nd day delivery, and from the date it was shipped, it took 5 whole days to make it to my door. Unacceptable, bad FedEx!!

3. This is on my list for October 2006, I am buying 3 more of these babies.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat network drive for the price

Pros: Works both as USB and network external hard drive. Some other network drives only work as a network drive and the USB port is for connecting other devices. Extremely fast connecting with USB. I have streamed music over the network and it works flawlessly.

Cons: I am using it mainly to hold our digital pictures, music, and backups for all the computers on my network (4). Three of the computers connect to it wirelessly, so transfer rates are kind of slow. I have not tried to connect to it through wired port, but will eventually do so.

Other Thoughts: Had problems initially connecting to router, but gave it a static IP address and it started working.
