3 out of 5 eggsGood but not fast

Pros: *Good for only small workloads

Cons: *Its slower than advertised with a max read of 39 mb/s and write of 35 mb/s
*failed on a couple of sector tests just 3 months later

Other Thoughts: This drive is slower than advertised, i would only recommend this for people who use this for very small workloads and not as your main drive. windows takes 2 minutes and 36 seconds to boot on this drive when fully defragmented.

5 out of 5 eggsRefurbished is the new new

Pros: 320 GB, 297 gigabytes usable, so this works just like new, I've installed an OS on it and have no regrets other than not having enough money to afford a SSD, but this is a perfect buy for anyone on a budget. The thing that had me sold is the warranty. They will pay for the return shipping if it's dead on arrival, and that's something I can agree with completely. I've waited on reviewing just to see how well it's performance is, and I can comfortably say it's been flawless.

Cons: My budget.

Other Thoughts: Shipping was fast, got here with my graphics card that I ordered 2 days before. I'd recommend anyone to at least try it out, worst case scenario you break even because they will offer to refund your money if you are not happy with the product.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Chugging along very well and it is quiet. Seagate has been a builder of reliable
drives for a long time.

Cons: Yes, it's slower than an SSD, but we knew that.

Other Thoughts: To make this system work this well for a 25 buck drive was well worth it.

4 out of 5 eggs1 DOA, 1 good

Pros: Silent, good read/write speeds, doesn't get too hot, built for 24/7 runtime

Cons: First one arrived with a corner completely chipped off and 1600 (yes, 1600) bad sectors; it was unformattable. Thankfully the second one was OK but common Seagate, up your quality control! The freaking casing was busted for crying out loud! I can forgive this though because I'm still very impressed with the working one!

Other Thoughts: Newegg was easy to deal with, but they do expect you to pay return shipping (which I was able to weasel my way out of thankfully). This is the only problem I have with Newegg's RMA service; defective equipment should ship for free. That aside, A+ customer service Newegg! =)

I really like the Pipeline series, they're quiet and pretty fast compared to 7200 RPM drives; perfect storage for those who really do believe silence is golden but don't want to sacrifice too much performance!

This is the same hard drive series that DirecTV uses in their HDDVR receivers.
