The Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d Network Storage, Cloud Edition offers content sharing with advanced security, and is ideal for small and remote offices, workgroups or home networks. Based on enterprise-class EMC storage technology, the StorCenter ix4-200d provides easy file sharing, iSCSI block access, dual GbE connections and multiple RAID configurations. The Iomega Personal Cloud offers unparalleled simplicity and versatility for data sharing and protection.

Business users will appreciate the robust data protection features such as UPS support, print serving, user quotas, rsync device-to-device data replication, and user replaceable drives for business continuity and disaster recovery. The easy-to-use interface provides no-hassle management. Active Directory Support and Remote Access round out the comprehensive business features. The StorCenter ix4-200d supports up to six Axis IP security cameras for basic video surveillance.

Home users benefit from the advanced media features such as the DLNA certified UPnP AV Media Server, PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol), torrent download compatibility, and Bluetooth upload. iSCSI Support iSCSI target provides block-level access for the most efficient storage utilization, especially for backup, database and email application performance. It can be used in parallel with file-level storage access via CIFS/NFS.
Built in Audio Video Media Server UPnP DLNA Certified, the Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d provides the ability to stream photos, audio content and videos to a variety of media devices, such as game consoles (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3), audio bridges, iTunes players, picture frames, Iomega ScreenPlay products and more.

If more than 2 HD's fail out at one time the whole RAID is dead. Wanted a cheap alt to my 4 TB (2.9tb RAID 5) WD 1tb x4 soft raid (tler). Other Thoughts: I bought this NAS, the 4TB version as a back-up box. I have had nothing but problems. I lost one drive with in a month. The loops required to get it covered under warranty was going to take too much time, I needed the drive. It was easier to purchase another identical replacement drive. The NAS consistently loses contact with drives which forces me to re-seat them, causing the box to rebuild, wiping the drives clean. This happens no less then once a month. I almost need a back-up for my back-up! I would NEVER purchase this again. Manufacturer Response: We are very sorry to hear your issues with the IX4-200d. eh... 9/2/2011 5:40:03 PM Tech Level: 5/5 Ownership: 3/5	Rating: 2/5OK, but slow, and poor interface Pros: A lot of network-enabled storage for a good price. Cons: It is slow. Even though it comes with gigabit ports, I have not been able to get speeds anywhere close to the port speed. Direct Transfers are slow as well. The interface has much to be desired, you can't just move files on the device itself, and trying to do it via a network share will take you days, instead you have to do a copy job, then delete the files after copied (assuming you have enough room). Manufacturer Response: Hi, eh... Thanks for the feedback on the ix4-200d Cloud Edition device. As you know, the performance of the device will be affected by many different factors. You can turn off any services that you aren't currently using, and you may see some performance improvements on the device and through your network. In terms of moving files to the device - I'm not sure what you mean exactly. Since it is a network device, you will be using the network to transfer files, and the performance will depend on your network configuration.
