Cons: Make a noise each 10 minutes in your computer is in screensaver mode (Especially laptops).

Pros: Quiet running. Reliable so far.

Cons: Runs hot on big backup jobs. Had to move away from my workstation to a cooler place to keep it from over heating. Also don't like that it goes into hybernation several times a day causing latency in system while the drive warms up again. Would have preferred some way to set hybernation periods not during the work day.

Other Thoughts: Looking now for replacement that doesn't hybernate.

Pros: Kicks on and off as it is needed. Quiet enough.

Cons: Runs a little hot sometimes.

Other Thoughts: I have this unit hooked up to my iMac and have used it with Time Machine to back-up my 1 TB hard drive (92% full).

I have watched this unit go on and off for 8 months and then the Internal Segate hard drive on the iMac blew! Apple replaced the Segate, but the "Fantom Drive" replaced my data. Whew!!!

The unit's not a year old yet. I hope it lasts longer than the Segate!!

Cons: While defragmenting, it's noisy and vibrates
It's extremely hot after extended use!

Other Thoughts: I've had this drive for a while now and I am very pleased with the overall performance and look. I've had a drive that's supposed to automatically turn on when the computer comes on but it stays on all the time so I have to unplug it. At the time of this review I was defragmenting the drive and it became so hot i could not grasp it for more than 3 seconds from the blistering heat. I shut it down right away in fear that it would melt. Other than that, the drive is very fast, efficient and extremely compatible.

Other Thoughts: The other review complains of noise, and when I first fired it up I thought I had that problem. As it turned out, the drive is silent but vibrates which,when set down, caused other items on my desk to vibrate and make noise. I'm wondering if that was the other person's problem.

A huge plus was that the drive actually came with the USB, FW 400, FW 800, and eSATA cables included! Also, maybe this is a thing of the past, but some drives used to have less space than advertised when you plugged them in. I was happy to see the full 2TB free space there.

Pros: It's soooo tiny!

SUPER fast! 182 Gb's in around 2 hrs via firewire 400.
Comes with all the accessory cables you could ever need!

Cons: My drive is noisy. Is it broken cause it sounds like a coffee percolator, and I swear {At the risk of calling the manufacturer a liar} I swear I hear a fan.

Other Thoughts: I may be picky but when I buy something that says it going to be quiet and fan free, I expect that.

Just returned it. Not to happy about getting a restocking fee on a product that does not deliver on what is say it does.
