Pros: easy installation

Cons: I have one at worked it is fine but this unit crashed. Just makes a clicking sound and computer doesn't even recognize it.
Read online of others having the same issue.

Pros: Hasn't failed.

I have had many external hardrives fail. This one is going on the 2 year mark and still running strong.


but remember, you should ALWAYS have a back up to your back up.

Cons: None for the price paid.

Other Thoughts: great product worked right out of the box. If you are planning on using an esata connection just be aware that you will have to purchase a cable.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these in January. One has worked perfectly since new. The other failed after about a month. Problems included failure to mount, failure to reply to access requests and some bizarre interface problems including POST failures and bluescreen crashes. ONLY with this one drive. Returned to Fantom who had it for two months and claimed no problems were found and asked what tests I wanted run. They eventually returned it with the note that they had "replaced the HDD" it was the original case. "Repaired" unit ran OK for 3 days then started having the same problems again. The drive that works is fine but this C.S. experience will keep me from ever buying a Fantom again.

Both times we were unable to replicate your problem, however, in the interests of customer service we’ve replaced your hard disk. At this time, there are no original components to your drive.
