When connecting the Hard Drive to a computer it usually will not recognize the device to even being plugged into the machine. It's been like this since I bought it and it does the same on ALL computers. Totally unreliable, at times I'll spend 20 minutes hooking up, waiting 30 seconds and then unhooking until it works.
