4 out of 5 eggsPretty

Pros: Great little USB drive. Can be easily pushed over even with the stand it comes with but its been working for me for over a year with almost no hiccups even though i have dropped it a couple times. solid build

Cons: The hiccups - some of the video data i have on it has been corrupted i am not sure whether or not its because of the drive or because i had a bad video file or what but just putting that out there. It does get a little hot in use but that can be fixed somewhat by putting it upright with the stand it comes with.

Other Thoughts: comes with rubber feet that you need to put on yourself. i didnt realize till they had all fallen off and such that they have little indentions on the drive itself to show you where to put em. The drive needs to be turned on manually via a switch in the back. little LED turns blue when on and on standby and red when reading.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Just received HD on time I might add. Package was clean as were contents (no dings, scratches). HD was clean and unscratched. came with all the cables, neatly wrapped. Looks great. Will update soon as I work with it a little more.

Cons: Comes formatted as FAT32 not that big of a deal takes like 20-30 mins to reformat to NTFS. Other than that have none so far.

Other Thoughts: No esata sucks, but I knew that when I got it so not much of a surprise.

5 out of 5 eggsworks

Pros: Does the job for what I need. Simple file storage for an old computer.

Cons: Gets kinda hot....well, very hot.

Other Thoughts: If you're not going to be using it a lot, it works well.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks, but there is better

Pros: I use this for saving Pictures, Videos, Files, you name it. If you want to use as a hard drive for your PC I'm sure it can be done, however mine didn't come with an E-SATA cable, which you'll need to do so. I wouldn't recomend that anyway. Transfers files rather slow, 7GB took 11 mins

Cons: No E-SATA cable, 8MB Cache, 16MB would be much better

Other Thoughts: 32MB Cache HDDR are out, I've only seen in internal HDDR though

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: This external drive is great....very quiet...can hardly even hear it...Supported by eSata which makes tranfering files super fast, or you can use it like a regular hard drive, instead of a file folder with USB...also you cant beat the price

Cons: Gets somewhat warm if left on for a long time

Other Thoughts: As always, Newegg comes through with fast as ever shipping

3 out of 5 eggsSure

Pros: *It looks nice
*Compact and weighty
*External power suppl

Cons: *Slows down over time
*Short lifespan
*Dead after 7 months
*Messed my backups up

Other Thoughts: This hard drive was great for someone on a budget, but it turned out that it cost me bit more than if I had just gotten a reliable drive in the first place.

I have used this hard drive extensively because I have a lot of music and video. I also have huge applications and programs so I needed the space. I didn't mind the first 6 months of use, but after that...forget about it.

I have a friend who had a similar problem within 1 week. I was not so lucky to get it broken within the Newegg warranty.

Right now, my computer freezes while trying to read this hard drive. I can't access my 480gb of data that I would like to have back. I plan to do a recovery through some professionals.

It clicks whenever I try to access anything on the drive and ends up just stalling and has a continuous red light that means its practically dead. Hopefully I can salvage my stuff.

Overall, good while it lasts, but I would recommend going with more mainstream externals like Western Digi

1 out of 5 eggsGo with HDD from another maker?

Pros: Beautifully crafted. Well constructed. Worked perfectly out of box. No hassle repartitioning into NTFS and FAT32 partitions.

Cons: Just short of 1 year the HDD stopped working. Light flashed blue, red, blue, red. Nothing fixed it. Possible defect in power supply cord because I took the HDD into the office (where I have an identical model for the office) and the HDD started working again with that power cord. I will try and update this review if I learn more.

Other Thoughts: I got lucky that the HDD failure went away long enough to recover my data before trying to repair/replace the HDD under warranty. Still, even if I get a new HDD, I may be tempted to buy a replacement unit from some other maker to be safe.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: -Very fast transfers
-Nice LED light on the front, changes colors from blue to shades of red and purple.
-Nice sturdy build, I already dropped it off the desk and it didn't even leave a mark.
-Very fast standard shipping from newegg.
-Great price!

Cons: -Doesn't include eSATA cable...
-The light on the front can be a little bright in the dark, and it tends to go crazy while tranfering data sometimes.
-Actually is around 468GB of space when formatted
-Also can get a little warm after quite a bit of use, but I guess this would be normal without a cooler.

Other Thoughts: This isn't a bad external drive at all. It's cheap. It's fast. And it doesn't really look bad at all.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Drive

Pros: I have had it for 8 months now with no issues. I back up to it every night. The speed is good and having both esata and usb is a big plus.

Cons: None
