acomdata 1TB USB 2.0 / eSATA External Hard Drive PDHD1000USE-72

Pros: Good external drive with excellent support. This company went above and beyond my expectations to make me a happy customer.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Had this 1Gb drive for 2.5 years before it failed. As a "just in case", I emailed their support address not really expecting much. Their response after verifying my Newegg receipt email was mail it in and we'll fix it or replace it. Really? You know how old this is? The issue turned out to be the enclosure so they slipped my drive (and data) into a new one and shipped it (free) as new including box, manual, stand, etc. When I requested to purchase an eSata cable from them they threw that in for free as well! This is the model of how all companies should take care of their customers. Thank you Tim at Acomdata!

Pros: It's fast enough for my media collection. Runs very cool, hardly feels warm after extended use. Its a very quiet external drive. Led is cool looking!

Cons: Manual switch on/off - kind of a pain when I'd like it to come on automatically with the computer. I've left it on for several days on end, and it seems fine and doesn't even get warm.

Other Thoughts: I'd like to get a 2TB version of this drive.

Pros: I don't use this all the time, but I have used it a handful of times on both a Mac and a PC. It is plug-and-play with both computers, exactly as I need it to be. So far, it's been perfect for my use on the two operating systems.

Cons: None so far

Pros: Does its job. No issues.

Pros: Its fast, sleek and was a great price. TB of storage was great and esata/usb 2.0 is perfect

Cons: It broke all of a sudden at 1.5 years and I lost everything. pics, music, movies. The pictures is what really sucked the most.

Other Thoughts: I considered replacing the PCB but on WD drives - this is not possible leaving it dead forever. I realize that hard drives fail at times so there isnt really much to say against the drive itself

Pros: 936GB after format. Works great for movies and music on PS3. It comes preformatted FAT32.

Cons: a little bit slugish, but not bad.

Other Thoughts: Long slim LED on the front though. Can kick out some light, but who cares... RED Dragons!

Pros: Decent price for the performance.
Nice Style.
Still alive after a year, so many hard drives die before their time.

Cons: None...

Other Thoughts: Could include the esata cable.

Pros: I like the Case. Cant seem to find the exact same one for sale. Rosewill has one close.

Cons: The drive was half full of movies and one day just started the Click of Death while the media player made an attempt to access. Acomdata has not stated warrenty policy on their website that I could find.

Other Thoughts: The drive was a Samsung that they showed as a "non oem" drive which allowed me to RMA it back to them under their 3 year warrenty...so helpful compared to acomdata's people.

Pros: I bought this to replace a Maxtor One Touch, which had always been flaky. This acomdata works great and has been much more reliable. No USB connection problems, etc.

Cons: None. Very happy.

Pros: The drive is well made and performs well. I have had this for well over a year and I love it.

Cons: I have had no cons with this drive. I would buy another one if it weren't for the fact that there are higher capacity drives these days.

Other Thoughts: I have only used the USB interface and not the eSATA interface, so I can't say anything about that. Other reviews say it gets hot, and yes, it does, but that would be how the heat dissipates (not sure how else you want it to).
