Cons: This is the second 2TB WDBlue that arrived Dead. Dead. Dead. In the immortal words of Monty Python, this hard drive has passed on! It is no more! It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet its maker! It's a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace! If I weren't about to return it, it would be pushing up the daisies! Its metabolic processes are now history! It's off the twig! It's kicked the bucket, It's shuffled off its mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! It is an ex-drive.

Other Thoughts: Warning: When an item arrives DOA. NewEgg is really good about sending return authorizations -- as long as you pay the return postage. That makes the value of the item that finally works much less than competitive.

Pros: Great price for 2TB of storage. These drives are made for everyday use on desktop machines, not 24/7 runtime, but rather on/off operations. I needed a drive to simply store data and accompany my SSD boot drive. With SSD's being more prevalent there is a big need to have an accompanying HDD that is reliable with decent performance. After much research I ended up with a WD Blue drive. The 5400RPM is a balance between the previous Blue and Green drives, as the Greens are now retired. A quick CrystalDiskMark shows sequential reads and writes just over 130MB/s which is perfectly fine for data storage.

Cons: No cons as long as you know the purpose of this drive.

Other Thoughts: Great drive to general storage. Great to accompany an SSD.

Pros: Excellent replacement drive.

Other Thoughts: I had purchased an Open Box WD 2TB drive that has bad sectors. I waited to long to RMA it. This time I purchased a factory new drive.

Cons: 5300 RPM is to slow for todays faster Storage Devices Including External HDD's unless using as an Backup drive.

Other Thoughts: I own an WD Blue 1TB HDD which is 4 years old an still performing very well for backups on 1 of my office PC's

Pros: Bought to replace a 6yo WD Black because I needed more space and I wanted a quieter drive. This really has minimal spindle noise, although I can hear the seek. Speed is good too. I was getting ~90mb/s on the old 7200rpm black, while this gives me ~120mb/s even with the lower 5400rpm speed.

Cons: Had to RMA the first one because it was out of balance and shook like a pair of maracas.

Other Thoughts: Drive did not format properly on first boot, had to reboot computer *actually hard power shutdown because the hard drive had the computer locked up) and then had to format upon reboot.

Once reboot, speed was very slow, and DiskBench gave both slow and non existent test results. Had a Seagate drive that died after 2 years, only had this drive two days and its of no use to me. Talking with WD tech support to determine best options for replacement. Sad to see WD drive quality go down hill like this.

Other Thoughts: Arrived 1/5/2015. Using Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for DOS, v 5.21 on Ultimate Boot CD I ran the Extended Test

twice, Write Zero's to Disk once and Extended Test again. NO errors or problems detected.

Pros: I installed it upside down and it didnt screw in. I was so sad. Then I turned it right side up. BINGO.
Works fast, like a champ, and hasn't turned up any errors yet. Using it for seeding, no signs of slowing yet.
