1 out of 5 eggsBeware

Pros: An ok interim solution if you need it. Expect it to be temporary.

Cons: They die... they ALL die.

Other Thoughts: I know they're refurbs but every one I bought has died within two years. Buy new drives if you care about your data.

1 out of 5 eggsIt was okay

Pros: I purchased this hard drive at the end of December and it was a fine drive for the money until about a month ago.
(more continued in the other thoughts.

Cons: Was decent while it lasted...

Other Thoughts: After about 3 months of use I would get random hangups in any program I was running. I assumed it was software related as running a couple disk check utilities returned no errors. After about another week I started getting BSOD's and decided I need to investigate further.
I installed Windows onto a spare sata drive that I had lying around and have been using it since.

Tonight I decided to attempt a reinstall of windows onto this drive and see if it was indeed a windows issue. After install and booting into desktop I recieved a hangup almost immediately. Shortly after I got a BSOD.

I understand that this is a refurb but I haven't even owned it half a year! The drive it replaced lasted 5 years...

1 out of 5 eggsClick of Death out of the package!

Pros: Price

Cons: Dead out of the package. Obvious click of death, drive failed to initialize, format or operate.

Other Thoughts: Is there QA/QC at Western Digital for refurbished drives? This drive has a very obvious defect yet it left the factory and ended up in my home as an expensive paper weight.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for TIVO HD series 3

Pros: Cost, reliability

Cons: None for my use.

Other Thoughts: I have had this drive in my Tivo HD series 3 for about 4-5 years and since its gone into my tivo it has held up and thought I would get the word out for those looking for a quiet and reliable drive that this is not a bad option for tivo HD. I dont have much else to say other than it works and has worked for a long time.

4 out of 5 eggsBought it on sale

Pros: -None

Cons: Noisy

Other Thoughts: Not as cheap as it should be on a regular price.
I have it in a data and app server so it does not have to be the fastest thing the world

3 out of 5 eggsBad sectors after a week

Pros: Decent price after the recession. Large capacity.

Cons: The drive worked great at first, but a week later, it started developing bad sectors to the point of failing to boot Windows.

Slow to begin with (but that's understandable considering it's a Green drive).

Other Thoughts: I don't recommend using it as a boot drive regardless of reliability issues, as it's a bit on the slow side. I got 90MB/s reads in CrystalDiskMark and a WEI of 5.4.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: its 750gb, i bought it for about 80~90 bucks
transfer rate is fine
i have over a year with this drive with little issues
no bad sectors or anything
ran HD Tune Pro and it says it has no issues

Cons: well after a while using this drive i noticed the drive kinda goes on standby when i dont use it for a while, therefore when i use it again i can hear the drive making a sound as if it just turned on. im not sure if that is the intellipower thingie or not but that is really annoying because i gives you a 3-4 second delay when you open files or anything. another thing is that it runs hotter than i expected. w/o a fan cooling it, it runs at 41-44ºC and with it runs at 36-38ºC

Other Thoughts: I use this mainly for backup nothing else, not gaming nothing else, so i dont know why it runs hot
i bought a WD caviar Black 1TB because i thought the delays that the drive had were because it was going bad
