Pros: 2TB, USB 3.0, thought it was a good value for the money
Cons: Opened the box, connected the drive, it made a whining noise for a few seconds and then the drive light starts flashing continuously. This piece of junk drive then could not be recognized by ANY of my computers so its on its way back to Newegg. I'm very unhappy that most of my "promo code" savings were consumed by the RMA shipping. I could understand having to pay return shipping for a warranty repair after the unit has had some use, but to have to pay to ship back junk that never even worked is a total rip off. What ever happened to QUALITY CONTROL? Obviously this drive wasn't tested very well before it left the remanufacture! I've purchased many items from Newegg over the years, but this is the second remanufactured item I've had problems with right out of the box. Two strikes Newegg. One more and you're out! Hopefully that won't be the replacement drive you'll be sending me next week.

Drive disconnects day one.
Pros: High capacity, has usb 3.0 (Not as fast as i thought i guess. Im getting about 60 Mb per second. Pretty sure Ive seen higher) , came with extended warranty for an obvious reason i dont want to think about.
Cons: I did a disk error check first thing. Everything seemed fine no errors. Im transferring nearly a terabyte into this thing day one. all of a sudden my computer crashes after a couple hours and is forced to restart after it loses connection with this drive. or some kinda crash dump files message something, with some blue screen in the back. Im only thankful i copied files into this thing instead of cutting them in. would have been a disaster. It disconnects frequently and shuts off which is weird Since i have it directly connected to my mobo instead of some risky usb 3.0 hub. After transferring whatever large files it has now reported disk errors. Everytime i go to fix them through windows tools the drive disconnects and shuts off again. i am not very pleased especially at the fact if i find out that theres a WD green caviar drive in there ima be P.O because those are horrible drives as it is with there failure high rates. Honestly it was this or seagate goflex and both are meh.
Other Thoughts: I have an old studio 1TB and and an old 500GB essential and there still alive and kicking with no problems. I dont know whats going on but i swear the old western digital drives were absolute pieces of art that have lasted me for over two or three years already maybe more. There in perfect condition with zero fragmentation and hasnt failed me once. I bought this new drive and it failed me day one. It was refurbed with a reason i guess but i dont wanna give up. going for replacement for drive 2

Pros: I was afraid of buying a refurbished HDD (haven't had good luck) but leave it to western digital to continue making the best quality, reliable, and durable HDD. :)
Cons: None what so ever. USB 3.0 now i don't have to mess with eSATA which was always... well not difficult but it wasn't widely used port so it was pointless to bring an external places or other PC's since most don't have an eSATA port.
Other Thoughts: ouch, HDD price gouging, luckily I avoided that buy finding this not only on sale and being discounted as refurbished, but with a 20% off promo code from building a computer :) making this a 99 dollar 2tb USB 3.0 external :D So glad i held out on getting an HDD until i found a sale like this, otherwise i'd be waiting until 2013 for the price gouging to stop.
