5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done, zippy.

This review is from: Western Digital WD Blue WD7500AZEX 750GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Purchased another refurb HP DC7900 SFF for a customer who didn't want Windows 8. It came with a heavily used 750GB HDD. Ordered this one to pair with it in RAID1.

The day before deployment the old drive failed with this one still running. It ran quick and things were very responsive. Received a replacement drive from the seller of the computer (heavily used of course) and rebuilt the array.

Glad to have this drive in there for when the old one dies.

Cons: No bacon :-(

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Western Digital WD Blue WD7500AZEX 750GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: It works, sometimes

Cons: Under heavy loads, this drive makes a loud whining noise and stop working until pressure is put on the drive in the drive cage.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this drive.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello dylanweber,
There are many variables that could amount to a drive emitting unusual sounds when powered on. To test our drives health, we have our Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows (WinDLG), and Mac users can of course use Disk Utility/First Aid. For information on how to use the WinDLG utility, please view the information provided by the following link.

2 out of 5 eggsMeh

This review is from: Western Digital WD Blue WD7500AZEX 750GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: I love Western digital Products

Cons: Crashed

Other Thoughts: I bought this when I was building my computer for the first time. I assumed it was brand new. Installed it and installed ubuntu. After doing a software update for ubuntu, my hard drive crashed. YAY!!!!!!!! I will recommend to buy western digital but this is annoying. Does anyone know how to contact newegg to return a defective product?

Manufacturer Response:

We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with the WD Blue, as this is not the typical experience with the product. It is unfortunate that you have experienced a drive failure, as our drives are all rigorously tested to ensure they are in good working condition before leaving our warehouse. There are many variables that could affect the drives integrity between leaving our warehouses prior to being installed in a computer. We recommend installing and running our Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows (WinDLG) utility for Windows users, or running Disk Utility for Mac users. Information regarding our WinDLG utility and Disk utility can be found at the following links.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

This review is from: Western Digital WD Blue WD7500AZEX 750GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Overall it performs very well in my RAID configuration. The 64mb cache really helps it compared to my older 32mb cache drives. I mean....it's a hard drive and it works.

Cons: Not the cheapest drive out there. I had to get this exact size to match my other 750gb HD for RAID. If you can, get a 1tb-2tb and it will be more value for your money.

Other Thoughts: Great drive. Works as it needs to. All that really needs to be said.
