1 out of 5 eggsNot worth keeping

Pros: It was cheap, when I thought it would work.

Cons: In less than one week of use, getting bad, repeated clicking and spinning noise. Hangs up in the middle of tasks. Shows almost 30,000 hours on this drive. My other main drive, an old 500gb model from 2012, has under 2,000.

Other Thoughts: I'm appalled that this was sold as "refurbished." I've bought a number of other refurbished products in the past from other manufacturers and sellers, and never have I been this disappointed. This is just a heavily, heavily used drive that isn't worth keeping in my machine. I'll be purchasing a replacement from somewhere else.

2 out of 5 eggsWritten between freezes

Pros: Was a good deal on a 2tb drive

Cons: Pending sector count became an issue quickly (3 Months). Some days it works fine, some days it will lock up the computer over and over for 2 secs after click & spin noise. Corrupted files have been popping up.

Other Thoughts: Download SpeedFan or a S.M.A.R.T. hdd monitor utility. Check the Current Pending Sector Count when you get it, and monitor it closely before your warranty runs out.. Risky refurb. Good luck.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: I haven't had this computer very long but so far it is doing very good. I haven't had any issues with the hard drive.

Cons: So far no cons

Other Thoughts: It was suppose to come with a free game. When my son put it in he thought it had not be refurbished because he thought the files were old ones left on it. Then we realized he deleted the free game. Maybe a little note in the box stating that is what it is.

1 out of 5 eggsPurchased 12/1/14 failed 12/16/14

Pros: price

Cons: Purchased 5 of these drives using in a Drobo B800i as a SAN for a mountable storage drive. Windows 8.1 Pro with Media center machines. Goal to use the SAN as my storage for all Libraries (music, video, pictures, documents, etc.). Purchased product on 12/1, but did not really get to install it till around 12/8. I was moving a Music folder containing around 60GB of 24bit FLAC music files on 12/16 and got the message "Red Alert. Drobo detected a hard drive failure. replace the hard drive indicated by the blinking red light. ======Drive 7====== product id: wdc wd2003fyps-27w9b0 health: drive failure capacity:2tb" I have not yet contacted newegg to see if will replace, but hope have no issues once they open and I can talk with them and may update the review. Overall I love the idea and price, but failed in a week?!?!

4 out of 5 eggsWD needs some WD-40

Pros: Right price, Western Digital, Quiet

Cons: Sluggish as a slave drive. Takes at 10-15 seconds for the drive to respond. Other WD drives I have are immediate

Other Thoughts: I am not as critical as I should be but this is a referbished drive so I get what I pay for

1 out of 5 eggsIt's *used* not *refurbished*

Pros: Cheap

Cons: I should've read reviews before purchasing this one.
Really disappointed that the drive has 27,600+ hours of usage. That's 3+ years of net time!!!

Other Thoughts: Kind of a good news is that it only has a total of 59 power cycles during this whole time and that it works.

4 out of 5 eggsIt Works!

Pros: It Works!
Just under 2TB of useable storage!

Cons: Not really that fast, with ~60MB/s write and ~70MB/s read speed ( I really need a more official test than windows explorer file moving ) but I've gotten so used to SSD's that it seems slower than it actually is.

2 out of 5 eggsHeavily USED

Pros: It spins.
Seemed like a good price for an enterprise drive.
.

Cons: -I suppose I've been ruined when I've purchased "refurbished" equipment from Apple. This hard drive was heavily used.
-A little funny that I only purchased this to replace my aging other WD that has 32,000 hours on it and this has a little under 27,000.
-Out an extra 18 dollars for sending this back.

Other Thoughts: Drive is also 5400 RPM. I was under the impression it was 7200.

Newegg needs to add more info to their Refurbished lineup. I'd give this a Grade D, physically blemished, heavily used. 5 years old next month.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks just fine

Pros: has a lot of space to store files and videos, fast, loads up pretty fast and runs smooth in continuous use.

Cons: slow start up if not in use.

Other Thoughts: this was a great buy for me since i have a lot of files to hold or if you want some space. great buy might buy again. MORE STORAGE!!!!
