5 out of 5 eggsFast

This review is from: WD BLACK SERIES WD2003FZEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Pros: Super fast, WD Black drives are very reliable, cheap compared to an SSD with 1/2 the capacity

Cons: Not as fast as an SSD but crazy fast for a mechanical drive

Other Thoughts: Installed along side an SSD to load games. System boots to an SSD and all the games are loaded onto the bigger drive from Steam. No complaints so far from a picky customer!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat hard drive for "budget" yet "quality" gaming

This review is from: WD BLACK SERIES WD2003FZEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Pros: This hard drive has worked flawlessly. I've recently upgrade from a 4-year-old WD Green hard drive (1TB) that I feared would fail on me, as the transfer speeds went as low as 500kb/s. Upgrading to this allowed for me to have my games load faster, have more space along with higher FPS when recording gameplay, and doesn't kill my wallet like an SSD would. This is a must for budget gamers.

Cons: Can be noisy upon booting or major file transfers, but it's nothing that truly bothers me.

Other Thoughts: The delivery was on-time, however they accidentally sent it to my neighbors house instead of mine. That was no big deal because I was able to stop him just in time. All in all, I've purchased a few products from Newegg and I've received them within their estimated delivery dates every time.

4 out of 5 eggsfine but noisy

This review is from: WD BLACK SERIES WD2003FZEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Pros: Decent price and speed. Only had for a few days so obviously can say anything about quality.

Cons: Loud as some have commented. Even a Click clack every minute without use.

Other Thoughts: Might replace in a few years with large ssd (prices should keep falling) but for now I can deal with the noise.

5 out of 5 eggsWD Black 2T

This review is from: WD BLACK SERIES WD2003FZEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Pros: It's a WD HDD. Bought on sale for $109.99

Cons: Maybe Price?

Other Thoughts: I have used nothing but WD HDD's for more years then I want to remember. Over these years I may have used a RMS 2 times. This covers everything from a WD 1T VR to other smaller HDD's. I just bought two WD HDD's 2T's to replace a driver that the warranty expired in 2012 and is still usable. The other one had it's warranty expire in 2014, also still usable. Because of there quality I would have no problem using a WD HDD for my OS drive. The best part is a 5 year warranty.

5 out of 5 eggsVery sturdy

This review is from: WD BLACK SERIES WD2003FZEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Pros: I have this drive running in my surveillance DVR now for about 15 months and it really is the quality I would expect from Western Digital. Today I exchanged this drive for a 3TB purple drive (WD of course), just to maximize the capacity of my DVR.

Cons: I have never really noticed it but this drive creates a lot of heat when used 24/7 .

Other Thoughts: I know this drive was never meant to be in a DVR but considering the quality of the WD drives, I tried it for about 15 months. That in fact the drive went through this long time running 24/7, confirms my trust in WD drives once more. Out of 35 drives I bought over the years I had only two that failed (fortunately within warranty). Even my oldest drive from 2002 is still up and running. I never was that lucky with drives from other manufacturers.

5 out of 5 eggsGood reliable drive

This review is from: WD BLACK SERIES WD2003FZEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Pros: I have this drive for mass storage ex. iTunes Library, Steam Games. I have used the same drive in my server for several months now to backup my equipment. It has exceptional read/write speads and I have no complaints as of yet.

Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggsGreat drives, still not sure if worth the price

This review is from: WD BLACK SERIES WD2003FZEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Pros: Fast
Quiet
Reliable

Cons: Pricey

Other Thoughts: These are great drives, I have a few 1tbs kicking around and had a 2tb Hitachi die, so I needed to replace it. Decided the extra 30 bucks or so was worth it over the greens.

4 out of 5 eggsMet my needs

This review is from: WD BLACK SERIES WD2003FZEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Pros: Price and storage space met my needs

Cons: It does make noise. I thought the heads were crashing. The noise is not unbearable, but when your used to just hearing the gentle purr of your pcs fans, the change is, well, a change. Sounds like a bird pecking on a window.

Other Thoughts: I'm not attributing this to this HD (btw, my other 1T drives are WD black, 7200 RPM) but transfer rate starts out at 120MB/sec but quickly drops to 60MB/sec. Yes I'm connected to SATA3 ports using SATA3 cables. Transfer rate between my two 1T drives is 80MB/sec.
