5 out of 5 eggsWD 160gb Blue HDD

Pros: I needed a low price drive for an Ubuntu 14.04 installation and this filled the need nicely. Packed in a bubble cocoon which really protects spinner drives nicely. Came wrapped and sealed in an anti-static plastic bag. Looked new but it definitely wasn't. I suspected high hours and wasn't surprised to discover it had a tad over 5-1/2 years runtime to it's credit and very few stops and starts. With WD quality what it is this drive is just getting it's second wind I would venture to say. SMART indicated no problems at all and I encountered none. Drive is running perfectly at a cool and quiet temperature of a mere 84 degrees.

Cons: Nothing about the drive is a con but I sure wish people who wrote reviews would at least proof read their posts and use spell check- BEFORE hitting the SUBMIT button. Even if their grammar is atrocious at least the words could be correctly spelled. I don't think that would be asking too much and hey, you never know, it may become a habit!

Other Thoughts: If you're needing a reliable ATA drive for an older box you would be hard pressed to find a better drive than this. For only about $15 with free fast standard shipping.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works fine

Cons: S.M.A.R.T. says it has been running for over 4 years.

Other Thoughts: For 16 bucks it served its purpose replacing a dying WD 100 gig drive for dead storage.

5 out of 5 eggsNo problems!

Pros: This thing worked beautifully. It's fast, like new, and reliable. I put this in a build for my grandmother, because she's been needing a new computer, so I built her one as a late Christmas gift.

Cons: Absolutely nothing!

1 out of 5 eggsDon't do it

Pros: Cheap education.

Cons: Refurbed hard drive. Worked for a couple of days then froze.

Other Thoughts: I have no issue with buying refurbed electronics but hesitated to buy a refurbed hard drive. it was not for a critical app and it was cheap so I purchased the drive. That was a mistake. It's dead now. It''s too expensive to send back. So my advice is just don't buy it.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome Deal

Pros: Great price for a 160GB hard drive
Have confidence in Western Digital products. I have used nothing but Western Digital hard drives since playing with computers since 1998. The original hard drive in my first computer (not a WD drive) failed within first year.
Picked up at will-call so no shipping charges
Spins up and works right out of the box
IDE drive for an older computer sometimes hard to find

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: May be a little soon to review this hard drive but I am only using it as a backup with my OS on it in case of disaster. So I may not even touch it again until after the 90 day warranty is over. Only thing I need it for is to work one time so that I can restore my ghosted OS backup to a new drive. At this price it was cheaper than other solutions.
