Pros: Faster, sequential reads/writes at 120 MB/s when accelerated by an SSD.

Cons: When you put on hand on the laptop, you can feel it spinning!

Other Thoughts: Glad it has a 5 year warranty.

Pros: Except for lesser capacity, this drive is better than the earlier 750 GB WD7500BKPX model because this model has double the cache and, according to the spec sheets, has a lower audible (noise) level.
This model has a single platter instead of two platters, which makes this run less warm and IMO is more reliable.
Compared to the similar seagate model, this WD has 5 yr warranty instead of 3 yr warrenty and might be better built.
My drive was made in Malaysia, not made in China (I've experienced great reliability with Malaysian-built electronics like those from Yamaha, Panasonic, etc, that work trouble-free for many years - they cost a little more but worth it).

Cons: Costs more per GB than other HDD drives.
I wish it was available in larger size, but then it'd be multi-platter which is something I wish to avoid in a main/boot drive for a laptop (tho it might be acceptable to have multiple platter for data drives because those are used less - I have some).

Other Thoughts: This drive can fit into a 9 mm HDD bay if you have either a 7mm caddy or the original 9.5mm caddy. At least for thinkpads.

Pros: - Worked great for 3 months.

Cons: - Only lasted 3 months
- Now WD RMA process has begun

Other Thoughts: Always had good luck with these Black Edition drives. This one went down hill in 3 months. Smart disk errors began, 100% disk activity and no process reporting any usage, system freezing - locking up, failing to boot or boot volume errors on boot up. OS 3 months old, system still clean as a whistle, luckily was able to extract the data for the customer. Having to tell a customer that new "5 year warranty drive" that you installed has failed is not good at all.

Pros: My Xbox One's hard drive was slowly dying so I cloned the current drive with this one using Clonezilla.
Works perfectly and there's a noticeable decrease in loading and boot-up time and the lag I previously had while browsing the Home Menu is gone.
Took about 2 hours to clone.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This drive replaced a WD Blue 2.5.

Other Thoughts: Once installed, checked SMART data to verify newness, then ran speed tests.

Tests showed 149 MB/s to 81 MB/s transfers depending on the area used, which averages out to 115 MB/s. On a SATA II interface the cache speed was over 332 MB/s.

Let it warm up to room temperature before opening, in case it arrived cold, to avoid any water condensing on it.

Pros: Sorta Speedy for the price, i guess

Cons: This bad boy died in less than 3 months. Just stopped loading vital files... So it's not COMPLETELY dead... Just useless to me now. I would recommend getting a warranty if you are still looking into this hard drive.
