1 out of 5 eggsWorks for a while

Pros: Small, easy to connect and install, adequate capacity.

Cons: Quit after about 3 months. Tried two different computers, and different USB ports on each, the drive just flashes red and green led as it tries to read. It's dead.

Other Thoughts: I recommend a higher quality, maybe a 'name brand' that should last longer.

2 out of 5 eggsBorked

Pros: Worked for 9 months, never intermittent.

Cons: Was a bit slow. Broke after 9 months, no warning. Made a weird sound. Good thing I never stored my only copy of critical data on it.

Other Thoughts: Decided it wasn't worth an RMA, and I wanted my data. Broke the warranty seal to open it, and used an external enclosure kit I got from Newegg a while ago, and it was still making that sound. No bending or pressing fixed it. The HDD is a Seagate ST980813AS, by the way.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat stuff!

Pros: Plugged it in and it worked. Took under a minute to back up some files that would have taken 7 hrs to save to a CD. Small, sleek, fits right in my purse, nice looking, nice little carrying sleeve. A good deal and a good deal for the price.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Read other reviews, especially those that complained about it lacking a driver, or plugging it in and it was DOA. So I updated all my drivers, particularly those related to the USB, and didn't have a moment's problem. Really, really recommend this. Cirago. Who knew?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for PS3 back up

Pros: Plugs right in to a PS3 console to do a system backup before you put in a bigger hard drive. Mine has done 3 backups now of about 25GB each. No problems encountered.

Cons: A little (well OK, A lot) slow when trying to transfer the save to my computer. Don't know why. Only took about 45 minutes to do or restore the save on the PS3 but took almost 2 hours to load it on a PC.

Other Thoughts: As stated in other reviews, there is no driver to be found anywhere for this unit. The cirago website is about useless. I have 3 Pc's running xp home. 2 of them recognized the drive with no problem but the 3rd will not. The 3rd is an older Pc that was one of the first xp home models.

1 out of 5 eggsno driver?

Pros: sleek looking, nice packaging, good price.

Cons: lots of 3rd party applications on the enclose CD, alas no drivers. No .inf file. None on company website either. Nowhere on the web.

Other Thoughts: If your OS doesn't recognize it, you are up the proverbial creek.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for use with Windows OneCare.

Pros: Works great with Windows OneCare for computer backup, no software to install for hard drive, plug and play.

Cons: A little slow, but for what I use it for, it is great.
