5 out of 5 eggsVery nice drive

Pros: Very sleek and small. You can carry it around in your pocket if you want. Comes with a nice sleeve case. I don't use the software that came with it, however plug and play works great with. Self powered and runs extremely quiet. I use it to play MP3's and movies on my PS3 and it works flawlessly.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: 120Gb is a bit small I suppose, but with the size and price, it's hard to complain. I would definitely recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: Sturdy and durable, nice case, quiet, compact, nice form, does its job without any errors. I leave the case on and haven't noticed any problems with overheating.

Cons: 120GB just isn't huge these days, but still a good buy. Could be faster, but that's the price you pay for a 2.5" USB-powered HD.

Other Thoughts: Would definitely recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsBought 3, working fine.

Pros: I bought 3 of these to rotate through for monthly full disk image backups and they are all working fine so far. I use the free software DiskImage XML to do the backup and it takes about an hour to backup 60GB.

Cons: Caution, I found these drives do not work with Amacom's Back2Normal BareMetalRecover CD! This Linux restore software did not recognize and could not read the drive.

2 out of 5 eggsDrive Failed

Pros: When it did work, worked flawlessly. Never used the One-touch feature.

Cons: Drive failed after six months. Maybe sooner. Hadn't used it in a few months. Drive has a Western Digital and I have a lot of experience with those drives... especially their failure symptoms. Had this been a Seagate drive I'm sure it would still be working.

Other Thoughts: Now I'm in the process of using Aluratec's support. No immediate option for a return, just a support ticket. Personally, I know I'm impatient. Too many hoops and I surrender but from now on if I want another eventually-will-fail external drive I'll just buy a Passport. I mean... same thing, really.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great Hard Drive. I don't use it too much and it works just fine!!!

Cons: Sometimes removing it from 'Safely removing hardware' doesn't work on the first attempt, but that's not a problem.

Other Thoughts: Never Received the mail-in rebate but that's not Newegg's fault!

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Drive - DO NOT BUY

Pros: None.

Cons: I bought this drive for size and price but after 5 weeks of using. it couldn't be read by any of my computers - PC nor Mac.

Aluratek is an assembler, they do not manufacture the drive so if you have hard drive issues, you're stuck cause they buy the drives from another manufacturer and are not responsible for hard drive faultiness. I recommend buying from another manufacturer that takes responsibility for the entire product.

5 out of 5 eggsGood product at a great price

Pros: Definitly the best bang for the buck when I bought it a year ago. I was a bit worried because it was an unproven brand with only 4 positive reviews, but so far I have had no problems with it at all. Good GB capacity at a very fair price.

Cons: So far none. It's small, compact and hasn't caused me any problems to date.

Other Thoughts: There is an auto-backup feature, but I have never used it.

4 out of 5 eggsSmall & sleek

Pros: Needs no separate power adapter. I read that USB-powered drives can overload the USB ports, but this USB cable has two ends so it can plug into two ports for power if one port is not enough. It is small and smooth. It comes with a snug-fitting case. I appreciate the simple design.

Cons: The instructions were printed on this huge unfolding piece of paper, but only on one side. It would've been nice to see it on both sides with a smaller sheet.

Other Thoughts: I've had this for about six months and I use it almost everyday as a media drive. I have not used the included backup software or the one-touch button on the drive. I got a good impression of the company, which I had not heard of before. The packaging and documentation was nicely done.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks now after sending it in

Pros: Works now

Cons: Spent an extra $8 for a new USB cable that I now don't even need + $4 to ship this to them for repair.

Other Thoughts: They said the enclosure was defective.

2 out of 5 eggsUSB not recognized after 1 month

Pros: Nice, smooth finish with a protective case.

Cons: After 1 month, the USB wasn't recognized anymore and it was too late to return to newegg. After a month of troubleshooting w/ Aluratek tech support and purchasing another USB cable, I got an RMS to send it in since it did not solve the problem. Doesn't look like I'm getting reimbursment for anything.

Other Thoughts: Right now I wish I could get my money back from newegg and go to costco to pick up the 150 gb for $xx
