5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Its like a HUGE memory card reader!! This is just what I was looking for. When this hard drive gets full I'll just put another one in the dock. I have no complaints about it whatsoever. If you are looking for an external hard drive set up, go this route.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I'm in the military currently deployed overseas and this item got to me quicker than mail does from home. GREAT JOB NEWEGG, and keep up the good work.

2 out of 5 eggsIT BROKE

Pros: Great idea, great tool.

Cons: Something inside the cradle that the hard drive sits in broke at the point where the esata cable plugs in. I can shake the cradle and hear the part rattle around in there. The esata cable itself is okay, the hard drive is okay and still readable through the included, additional usb cable connection. But I can no longer use the esata connection. The usb connection is too slow for my purposes.

Other Thoughts: It broke 6 days after the 30 day NewEgg warranty and so far I only get voice mail at the manufacturer during proper business hours. NOT a good indication of good business practices.

5 out of 5 eggsTook a second, but it's working

Pros: Its a great concept, just plug in any hard drive you want and it'll boot up. It supports both 3.5" & 2.5", so that's always a plus. Main reason I got was to help out my boss and help him recover some of his files he's lost on his old computer. I've been meaning to get a new external hard drive anyways, so I just went ahead and got this. It's nice! the LEDs on the front don't burn your eyes out like the Western Digital ones do, and the drive itself doesn't get too hot when doing alot of day-to-day tasks. The drive supports up to 1TB hard drives, other than that I have no idea..

Cons: Well, the drives themselves don't slip in and out as easily as they should. Took me a few minutes how to get the little bigger into the actual slots.

The power button is on the back, which, is kind of annoying because it's right in between the USB cable and the power cable. Very inconvenient; I would have prefered if it was more in the front so you could perhaps, just touch the circle in the front, instead of having to squeeze my fat fingers inbetween two cables.

Other Thoughts: If your like me and was scratching their heads when they finally booted it on and nothing showed up under My computer, its because you have to FORMAT the hard drive. (Don't forget, this hard drive is new and has no bloatware on it)

Go to Control Panel > Classic View > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Highlight "Disk Management"

Then find the bugger that has 931GB on it. Just right click on the little graph and select the Volume thingy and follow the promts. Hope that helped you!

5 out of 5 eggsWhy didn't I think of this before?

Pros: Now I regret buying the 1TB USB2.0 external a few months ago. Dang! And I went onto Xigmateks' site:
"Support 3.5” HDD up to 1.5TB and 2.5” HDD up to 500GB," so even better. I threw in a Rosewill eSATA card to take advantage of the speed. Works great. Wish I would have went with this setup a long time ago.

Cons: The eSATA cable is as thick as a garden hose and as tough as beef jerky.

Other Thoughts: With the 1.5 TB capacity support - always on sale internal HDs - my storage capacity is now limited to how many SATA HDs I can buy.
Rosewill eSATA card
blazing fast

5 out of 5 eggsgood small and compact

Pros: Nice little docking bay to place your hard drives into. Has fast usb 2.0 and esata connecters.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: When the hard drive is in the docking bay it’s unfortunately too tall to fit inside the small box that comes with the product. But the box is big enough to house the bay and the hard drive when not connected, just be sure to keep the electro static bag that comes with the hard drive.
