Cost-effective. 3 Year warranty. Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 drive installed internally. Cons: Will not max gigabit speeds, at least not with Samba. Will test with FTP, I would imagine SFTP is even slower. That said it does get ~35MB write and ~45 read. That is enough for most small sized NAS applications, mind you this is for files exceeding 3 GB. The EMC cloud mobile apps SUCK. Use FTP/SFTP and an app that is good at handling them and you will be fine. Other Thoughts: Lennovo overall is a good company when it comes to quality. I am hoping that changing some settings can optimize speed, tests were done without encryption. I hope that they spend some time fixing their mobile apps and updating the firmware on the device so it can handle close-to-gigabit speeds rather than about-half-gigabit speeds. The drive in this NAS (ST1000DM003 ) can push out sequential reads and writes faster then gigabit speeds when not limited by the NAS (using SATAI or above, or USB3).
