1 out of 5 eggsmisleading

Pros: nice looking

Cons: This is not as advertised. It is not your plug and play device. That is obvious based on the "why it doesn't work" solutions offered from the official site, which are numerous and often complicated to decipher. I don't know what type of computer this works best on but I had two to try it on and on both I had to change configurations or do something to the computer to TRY and get this thing to work. Long story short, I never got ANYTHING backedup. I doubt you will either. I strongly suggest that your avoid this product. If you remember the expression, "If it sounds to good to be true it isn't"....This is case and point of that statement being You've been warned!!!

1 out of 5 eggsNot all it's cracked up to be

Pros: Sometimes the scheduled backup runs. Not always!

Cons: Title says it all. Not all it's cracked up to be.
Not a happy camper. Clickfree support cannot get scheduled backups to run successfully on a regular basis. If I could return it, I would... but I've owned it too long. And it's not heavy enough to be used as a doorstop.

Other Thoughts: Clickfree email support is adequate at best... telephone support only talks and doesn't listen. I wish I had listened to the friend who said "Are you sure you want this?"

2 out of 5 eggsOn It's Way Back

Pros: Lots of storage space. USB 3.0 is fast. A lot of options to backup and repair. Good customer service, without much wait time. They are always willing to help, without wasting your time having you reboot or otherwise go through a useless routine.

Cons: Does not out of the box. Gives erroneous indication as to the % finished, so that it is "99% Complete" the last 5 or 6 hours of the initial backup. It is easily confused as to whether it is connected to the original computer or a new computer. Not nearly as simple as Clickfree thinks it is.

Other Thoughts: My experience: First backup failed after 12 -14 hours. Showed 99% finished for the last 5 or 6 hrs. Customer Servuce had me update the firmware. Second try failed due to insufficient storage, as the failed first attempt ate up some of the drive. Cust Svc had me do a Master Reset, which is a format that preserves the firmware. Third try was a success after 14-18 hours on USB-2 to backup 1.4 TB. I added a PCi card, and switched to the new USB-3 port, which recognized it. Later, after a power interruption, Clickfree thought it was on a new computer, but did not have enough space. Tried to do Master Reset but it failed. Tried to Update Firmware, but it failed. Time was running out to get a Return Authorization (I purchased it from the manufacturer of my notebook computer). Perhaps if I were more patient, it would have worked eventually. Perhaps someone can comment as to what went wrong for me and how to make it work. However "perhaps" is not good enough for a backup device.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your money

Pros: None

Cons: Caused entire computer to slow down, crash, hang when shutting down, etc. Spent hours of troubleshooting before unplugging the device and all the problems went away. Could never get software to work. Spent $38 on software from clickfree and still "hung". Never got isoftware to start.

Other Thoughts: Not a pro but just built an $8000 gaming machine, which I must say is AWESOME! Never had a problem I couldn't solve until purchasing this device. This one is getting thrown out. Pretty much worthless.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The C6 is fine for Backups using their software.

Cons: If you want to copy a file using Windows Explorer, you will possible get errors on the C6. ClickFree will tell you that you must only use their software (you can't use other software). They should state that on their site.

5 out of 5 eggs2TB Clickfree C6 review

Pros: Fast, simple and easy total backup solution.
Can backup multiple computers.
Cost effective for desktop AND laptop backup.
Great customer support.

Cons: None. Best backup solution available.

Other Thoughts: I also use the USB transporter backup from clickfree as a secondary data backup to DVDs IN ADDITION TO the C6 backup. Store the DVDs at another site. Why you may ask? Because my home was burglarized and they stole the laptop, desktop CPU and my backup. That was a very bad day. Did I miss my hardware? Not so much. Did I miss all of the photos I have taken through the years - you bet.
