Pros: Router & Storage in one convenient package. USB 3.0 Transfer speeds. Battery seems to last pretty long with and SSD drive installed.
Cons: Don't expect to swap drives once you snap the enclosure in place. You'll likely break plastic clips if you try to take it apart again, so makre sure everything is working before snapping the lid on.
Other Thoughts: It works well with android devices, but limited on iDevices. The device does support SMB and if idevice is jb'ed you can map a connection to the device to stream media from apps that support smb feature, otherwise you're stuck with accessing the media through the macally app and only support media types that are supported on ios.

Tech Level: 5/5
Rating: 4/5A decent device for a reasonable price
Pros: Works as advertised. I installed a 500GB Seagate 5400 RPM drive, NTFS formatted. Recognized and available right away, no reformat needed.
USB 3.0 transfer speeds were as expected. I did not time it, but on a windows 7 PC, 250GB of mp3 and movies transfered steady at about 110MBps according to unstopable copier.
Wireless works fine and easy, d/l app and connect to the WAP. I had 3 android devices (droidx, gtab2 and gnote8) all playing video with no stutter or lag noted. Smooth.
I have not timed the battery life yet, in my experience a new battery needs a few cycles to reach it's stride. So far I have streamed video for about 3 hours on 3 occasions and have yet to deplete the battery.
Range is good, not quite as far (%80) as my AP but close.
Overall I am much more pleased with this device then I expected.
I have not used the wired network connection yet.
It is all white, and the plastic is properly thick and decent quality. This device would look and feel at home sitting next to any iDevice. I would not want to stand on mine but if the dare level was sufficient, I might. It would probably be fine.
Cons: Things i do not like: CANNOT REMOVE DRIVE! It is possible, but not advised. This is not a device you should plan to swap drives out of with any frequency, if at all. Once you snap down the lid it is not coming off without a lot of plastic gouging prying. You can open it with great effort but you will be marring the case and/or cracking the retention tabs. This was not a good design choice, IMHO. Not a deal breaker but just don't attach the lid until you are confident you are ready.
Battery life: seems ok so far. I would like 8 hours but I would also like a pony. What I want a should have, however is a better battery indicator. The device indicates it is fully charged by turning off the green power indicator. Surely this is not the best idea? the rest of the power indicator signals are not intuitive at all, I think it blinks green if it is less then full, steady orange if medium and steady red if low. I can tell that unless the app is updated to show battery info, i will need to treat it like a car with a broken fuel gauge, as in: how many miles/how many minutes have I driven/played so far?
The app really should give a battery percentage.
Other Thoughts: I got this on a whim, as I really only needed a USB 3.0 enclosure.
Considering the difference in price to a standard USB 3.0 enclosure, I would get this again even if I didn't need the wireless part "just in case". It is just such a clever little unit.
I consider this to be my go-to enclosure type going forth.
Pricing is excellent, I would expect to pay 25 or 30 bucks for a decent case anyway, so the added features are to my thinking very cost effective.
