4 out of 5 eggsFun

Pros: Great tablet, decent software package for starting out.

Cons: The distance the pen has to be within for the tablet to pick it up is annoyingly close.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Huge active area
Durable
Excellent setting options

Cons: Short cord

Other Thoughts: The cord it comes with is only good for laptops due to how short it is. I was pleased to realize that my LG Optimus phone cord charger is the same as what it needs. I switched the two out, and it works excellent.
Tablet needs to be wipped off before every use, dust will settle and scratch the surface when you draw otherwise.
I love that it came with extra programs (corel essentials and photoshop elements being the two big ones) but now its been more than a year, so I'm upgrading my programs to something more suited to my style.

5 out of 5 eggsBest deal ever on a Bamboo Create

Pros: Best of the Wacom Bamboo tablets. The "Create" has a bigger drawing area and nice software and extra offers.

I've been using pen tablets for years (Wacom and the old Calcomp brand), and this is a good deal on the best pen tablet available these days, at least for the non professional ones. After this model, the better ones' prices jump a lot higher. I've been very happy with my Bamboo Create for months now.

The software package and deals for prints (on metal or glass, or the "gallery wraps") that came with the one I got make it a great deal, even at the price I paid for mine, which was $20 more that the Egg's Daily Deal price today (08-31-13).

If you like to draw with your computer, get this pen tablet.

Cons: There is a learning curve to using a pen tablet. It takes a few hours to master the clicks using the pen. then it's easier than a mouse...

Other Thoughts: If you use a mouse for art, you'll love this thing.

4 out of 5 eggsSeems ok

Pros: Works as advertised. Small and slim. Easy to install.

Cons: Cable is too short(but can use a phone cable to replace it in a pinch).

Other Thoughts: Bought it for my wife, and she seems to be really enjoying it. Her only complaint was that she now wishes it did have a little more res. But of course yo can't get that for nearly the same price point. Also, spend the extra and get teh wifi kit-you'll be glad you did.

4 out of 5 eggsCable is too short

Pros: easy set up. downloaded the drivers from the web, restart, plug and play. sleek finish, textured surface gives good feedback for drawing. light weight pen is comfortable though feels a little thinker than the pen I had from my bamboo touch for 5 years. will take getting used to. Interface for drivers is the same as well.

Cons: the wire that comes with it is about 3 feet long. maybe less. it's rather unusable if you don't have a usb extension cable or a usb port on your keyboard or a usb hub. the product seems made for the wireless kit which i highly recomend getting.

The wireless kit isn't standard and the description isn't forthright about the usb cable. fortunatly i bought the wireless kit when i bout the tablet, so you'll be looking at another $40 to add to your purchase.

Other Thoughts: think they should give us a longer cable or at least a discount or coupon or authorized rebate from wacom when purchasing the tablet with the wireless kit. I understand that the same kit works for all their new tablets bamboo and intuos, but the stock cable is too short, so look into putchasing a usb extention cable or just spurge on the wireless. it's easy to set up and the drivers you download are for both the usb connection and the wireless so you don't need to hunt for other drivers.

on a side note. the cable is a regular micro usb conection, so if you do get the wireless, you'll need the cable to charge the battery (looks like a flat cell phone battery) but you can also charge cellphones with the micro usb conection. so

It's a good product. I'm happy with it. but if i didn't already have the wireless kit purchased. . . i think i'd be upset.

so remember to plan accordingly, if you don't have some way to extend that cable length look for options if the $40 for the wireless isn't possible.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drawing Tablet!

Pros: Textured surface for pencil to paper feel (pen leaves no ghost marks on the pad)
Large drawing area
No batteries needed for pen
Flippable pen for erasing
Wireless Option *with optional wireless kit
Sensitivity adjustment software
Touch responsive - zoom, twist, and scroll... all with fingers.

Cons: Short cord!
Bamboo Dock software is useless

Other Thoughts: I have always had a drawing tablet of one sort or another. I am a professional artist as well as a hobbyist. I have got to say this is by far the best I have ever owned. As noted above, my only two complaints about this tablet is the cord is way too short, but easily remedied with the wireless option (which I highly advise), and the Bamboo Dock software is hyped up bloatware with little to NO useful apps. Other than these two things I would not give up my Create for anything. That is, until I get my hands on one of those sweet Wacom Cintiq models. To the guy with the faulty connection... it's called a warranty... duct tape is not a solution.

5 out of 5 eggsNice!

Pros: This is a very nice tablet for the price. I've used it in my professional art career since buying it and it's never failed.

I use this on Ubuntu Linux with free software such as GIMP, Inkscape, and MyPaint and it's lovely. There's a little extra technical fiddling required to get the Wacom drivers working in Linux, but there are plenty of tutorials out there for you to follow. This tablet has come through several Ubuntu versions with me, and support for these is getting better all the time. I don't use Windows that often, but it's worked the few times I've tried it.

The surface is just slightly rough enough to feel good using, it's got a comfortably sketch-pad feel without being so rough your lines come out bumpy and your pen nibs wear down. I've been using this regularly for a year and am still on the first nib.

It's also nice to use the fingertip input to navigate your computer every so often, it's a nice break from mousing all the time.

Despite what another reviewer said, the USB socket takes a normal standard Micro-USB cable. When I'm not using the tablet, I leave the cable plugged into the PC and use it to charge my phone.

Cons: The connection point for the Micro-USB cable seems worrisome, like it'll break with too much stress, and other reviews of this seem to indicate that could happen. I've just been really careful with it.

5 out of 5 eggsAlmost everything I wanted

Pros: • The input is very precise and responsive, exactly as you would expect it to be.
• Excellent customizability. There are two buttons on the pen and four on the tablet. All buttons have many customization options and you can change many characteristics of the tablet so that it feels as soft or firm as you want it. You can even program in multiple keystrokes, which has just occurred to me might be an easy (though not fully secure) way to store complex passwords.
• It has an eraser function, despite several reviews saying that the eraser did not work. It may not work in some software environments.
• Some of the bundled software is pretty nifty. Photoshop Elements and Corel Painter Essentials are both very nice. There are also many free "apps" that can be found in the "Bamboo Collection".

Cons: • Microsoft OneNote fails to properly recognize the tablet. It can write and erase just fine, but it does not implement auto-smoothing so writing can appear jaggy. Numerous complaints about this can be found online and I have emailed Wacom regarding it-- they assured me that it is Microsoft's issue, not theirs. If you want to use OneNote with full features, you may have to wait for a software update. Ho hum. In the meantime, I've found that using larger pens makes the writing look fairly smooth on its own.
• In concession to the negative review, the cable from the tablet can be a little finicky. I find that if I accidentally press down on the cable, the connection can be lost. This is not a problem 95% of the time and I am not bothered by it, as the connection is quickly re-established.

Other Thoughts: I was torn between a 4 and a 5, but chose 5 to offset the one egg review.

Here are some important questions that bear answering:
"How quickly can you learn to use it?"
Pretty quickly-- within a week. My first inclination was to use it like a touchpad (incidentally, it can be used as a touchpad, though this feature can be turned off). It takes a while to get used to the one-to-one correspondence with the screen.

"How does it compare with a full-fledged tablet PC?"
As I don't own a tablet PC, I can't fully answer that question, but there is nothing I have used the Create tablet for that I think would be much easier on a tablet PC. The only noticeable drawback is that you don't know exactly where your cursor will end up when you put down the pen, which can be an issue when erasing. Writing legibly and drawing are not difficult.

"Is it worth it?"
Yes, absolutely. You can pay a roughly $500 premium for a comparable PC with tablet features or just $200 for the Create.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The tablet is easy to use with a large drawing space. Works great as both a drawing pad and a mouse.

Cons: Doesn't come with wireless adapter, but still not much of a con.
