5 out of 5 eggsEverything I was looking for.

Pros: I wanted an affordable keyboard with shallow keystrokes and I found it with this. Keystrokes are similar to that of a laptop rather than the tradition 'deep' presses of a desktop keyboard, which I find makes for quick, efficient typing. The media keys that I've tested work as expected on Linux.

About three days into owning this I managed to spill half a glass of iced-tea directly into the keyboard. Immediately unplugged and took it apart to find it has a sort of anti-spill layer incorporated into its thin design; this routed a good portion out through the drain holes at the bottom. After cleaning the circuit layers a bit I put it back together to find the keys quite sticky. Ripped it apart again and threw the top half in the tub with some water and vinegar, letting it soak for about 15mins. Swished back and forth a few times, put it back together and now works just like new again!

Cons: None for me thus far.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks, but mushy keys

Pros: Light, has media keys, PS/2 (a pro for some)

Cons: Mushy keys! Going from a MacAlly Icekey to this was awful - I went back to the MacAlly (Mac keyboard with corresponding buttons), even though I'm using it with a new PC build. There's virtually no tactile response, and I'm not comparing it with clicky keyboards.

Other Thoughts: That's about it.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Keys feel fine, if not slightly above average for it's price range. They have a shorter press distance, which makes them feel like a laptop/desktop hybrid. Media keys worked great for Zune, VLC, and Youtube.

Cons: Cable length could be a problem for some users. The quick launch keys didn't work out of the box.

Other Thoughts: Great keyboard, the best PS/2 I found in it's price range. Just ordered a second one as I accidentally knocked over a glass of water into my previous one. Good thing I didn't buy a really expensive board.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks, not 100%

Pros: Works great, slim design, media buttons at the top are nice.

Cons: Needs drivers to work 100%. About 3 or 4 of the quick launch buttons at the top don't work.

Other Thoughts: Website is garbage so don't expect to find any drivers. If you don't care about those unmapped buttons, it's a great deal. It's the legacy PS/2 connectors so make sure your motherboard has that connector on it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very good keyboard for the price. Slim design is appealing since I'm used to a laptop. Function keys are a great addition, and more than you'd expect for a keyboard this cheap.
PS/2 and USB versions are available.
It's also semi spill-proof. If you spill anything, it won't easily get down into the circuit board (unless you spill a lot) and also, there are slots where the liquid can drain out.

Cons: I can't get the right three function keys to register as a shortcut (in Windows 7 or Ubuntu 10.04) unless I press Ctrl+Alt first.

Other Thoughts: This was made for vista, since two of the right three function keys are for Windows Flip 3D and the Sidebar (both Vista features).

5 out of 5 eggsSleek and nice.

Pros: The slim design is really appealing, and the media buttons are nice as well.

Cons: Media buttons really close to F keys. You could accidently mis click a lot.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat so far

Pros: Cheap -- when it gets dirty or breaks, just get a new one!
Great functionality with media hot keys
Compact form factor without compromised functionality
Pretty good touch
Attractive
PS/2 connection is more reliable than USB

Cons: OEM packaging, no manual or drivers and nothing on their web site

Other Thoughts: I've been using the $8 104-key Lite-On keyboards for years with great results. No need to worry about spilling coffee in them, or cleaning out crumbs -- when it happens, you just get a new one! Reliable too.

This time, I thought I'd try the compact layout version. It's a few dollars more, but the media keys are handy and it gives me more room to roll my mouse.

I'd describe the touch of this keyboard as reasonably good for touch typists, but like all membrane keyboards, it's a bit spongy and imprecise. Overall, I'd characterize it as relatively low in springiness and travel but relatively high in the force that "clicks" the dome. Not ideal, but serviceable.

It has no manual to explain what the media keys do, but I figured most of them out easily enough and will get the right three eventually! Note that it has no keyboard driver. If you want to change the assignments, use Tweak UI.
