The SK-1688U/B keyboard from Lite-On provides another choice amongst affordable, entry-level keyboards. The fundamentals of the SK-1688U/B are all standard – the 104-key layout you're used to, ubiquitous USB interface for plug'n'play connection and most importantly the black hue suggesting this is a substantial company for your work, neither showy nor cocky.
Thanks to the successful cost management, The SK-1688U/B gives a rather quality offer at such a budget price. The keystroke feedback is delightfully tactile; the tapping is quiet; the base is rugged; the space key is generously large, and…What else you want to expect? Just get it and explore by yourself.

Cheap keyboards are the best keyboards
- Pros: CHEAP! It works! They are fun to brake! Cost effective stress relief!
!!!!
- Cons: I have had other cheap keyboards that had volume control. Kinda wish this one did.
- Other Thoughts: I never understood the $40 keyboard. Sure there are some perks but I have never favored them and most of them fair the same when something gets spilled on them or when they have to endure a fit or rage.
If you have never broken a keyboard you are really missing out. These things explode! Smashing a keyboard takes some technique to get maximum fragmentation and to get the max effect it is best done in a quiet office with multiple unsuspecting people within close proximity. Thinking about it makes me feel good. Ahhh yeah.
FOUR FEET CORD LENGTH - BE FOREWARNED
- Pros: The keyboard is simple (good if you don't like all the extra internet buttons), it's black, has a good look to it, and has a standard key layout. The keys are also relatively quiet, which is nice.
- Cons: The keyboard cable connecting to the USB slot is only **four feet long**. If your computer is under your desk, it is likely that you will not have enough cable length to connect to your keyboard to your computer. If your computer is on top of your desk (next to your keyboard), then you shouldn't have a problem, but be forewarned. Another problem is that the cord length is not listed anywhere on the manufacturer's website.
- Other Thoughts: This is a great keyboard but the four feet cord length is a significant problem.
