Why should the keys work?
- Pros: I've got two of these keyboards. I bought one for myself several months ago and was happy with it. However, my newest one just doesn't work.
Pros: Quiet Full sized USB keyboard
- Cons: Doesn't work. I guess maybe I should clarify that. Some of it works, but some of it doesn't. There are about 10 keys on the keyboard that just don't work. The left shift key, enter key, v key, alt key, 2 key, etc just don't work. It's not a windows issue either. The enter key doesn't work even in bios.
- Other Thoughts: It's a decent keyboard if you get one that works. I'm batting .500 right now. Not worth the RMA cost.
Incredible keyboard especially for the price
- Pros: Curved design w/o a bridge in the middle. Intellitype software that allows you to assign keys, programs, or macros of any sequence to a key. Incredible price for the capability and comfort.
- Cons: I used my previous one for a couple of years and the Enter key broke. For a while I took the plus key off of the numeric pad and used it. But at the cost and amount I used it at work for 8-10 hours a day, I can certainly live with wearing out the kb in two years.
- Other Thoughts: It could use more assignable function keys to assign macros, etc. Some of the keys such as the sound up and down (which I don't use) are not assignable. The front profile is wavy which is a little awkward for non flexible keyboard rests. I'd buy another one in a minute.
Adequate
- Pros: The curved keys help a lot, since my posture is rarely ergonomic, and it means I don't have to bend my wrists "outward" to touch type while sitting comfortably. That is a boon upon my wrists, although it makes it harder to type accurately on standard keyboards.
- Cons: The keys were a little bit smaller than I was used to, since this was my first non-standard keyboard. The touch required also felt a little light. It did last for 16 months, but I'm used to keyboard life-spans in the "years" range, so the failing keys I'm having now are a bit of a disappointment. I'm going to try a Logitech product just based on the lifespan, but I suppose 16 months isn't all that bad.
- Other Thoughts: The volume and other "Smart Keys" are all mapped to Windows functions, and when last I checked no software was offered directly from Microsoft to remap those functions. Not a problem if you're using a stock Windows install I suppose, but since I replaced my UI with Litestep, it meant those keys were a waste of plastic and space. But for roughly two hours pay, what more can you ask in a keyboard?
