1 out of 5 eggsDead Mouse

Pros: Working keyboard at this time,

Cons: Mouse dead, tried and tested the batterys. No light,
Was purchased to replace desktop but had delayed setting up, one day after return policy I setup the new system and find the mouse does not work.

Other Thoughts: I guess it is better to test and make sure the items work before letting them sit until needed.

5 out of 5 eggsI can't believe this still works

Pros: Everything about it I haven't found anything that I don't like about it. The Keyboard has almost endless options to customize it to your liking and its the same with the mouse.

Cons: Haven't found a way to break it through normal use.

Other Thoughts: I have had this keyboard and mouse since may of 2007 and it has been through almost every thing, from normal typing to the keyboard being thrown across the room and leaving a hole in the wall. I have also used it for editing video to playing WoW. I have even spilled coolaid all over the keyboard and the worse that happen is that a couple of keys stick now. If anyone would ask me "If it was worth the $17 i spent on it back in 2007?". By all means buy buy buy!!!

1 out of 5 eggssigh

Pros: comfortable, stylish keyboard

Cons: unpredictable range on the wireless transmitter.
mouse scroll-wheel button difficult to depress
thumb button should be closer to the thumb
slow response on volume keys
lefty thumb button will get hit accidentally if you're a righty
many of the special function keys didn't work until i got in touch w/ MicroSoft, which was also difficult.

Other Thoughts: no better than a logitech

4 out of 5 eggsIt's good

Pros: Wow. Well first I needed to find drivers and updates for the keayboard and mouse to FINALLY work.

Cons: It's a great product, but...the space bar is a little stiff on the keyboard. And the wireless range is a little small, plus you have to keep it a foot or two away from your wireless router or the two frequencies might mix. I had to scratch my head awhile on that one.

3 out of 5 eggsReady to GAMBLE on a good Value?

Pros: $30-some dollars for a keyboard that's double the price at the local office store, how cool is that?

Thanks to the riser design under the keys the coffee I spilled on the keyboard did no damage.

I bought 2 of these MS 4000 keyboard combos. One of them was a total dud and the other one met my expectations. The rest of this review in the "Pros" section applies to the keyboard that worked.

In the 2 years that I had the keyboard I replaced the batteries 4 times. I had a few connection issues if I used generic brand batteries. The MS 4000 would soar like an eagle if I used a premium battery like Duracell Ultra. The Duracell Ultra batteries lasted over 6 months and I never had a connection issue when using those batteries.

Sadly, the mouse lasted 2 years before the left-click button quit working. I use my computer for an hour a day.

The good thing was the mouse was very accurate.

Cons: Go look up some of the review for this keyboard posted in early 2009. The dud keyboard had traces of powered sugar around it. The dud keyboard had clearly been used by someone before I got it.

The dud keyboard was plagued with the annoying connection problems. I tried using better batteries but that didn't work for the dud keyboard.

The worst part was the dud keyboard was being used with the gaming desktop I own. After several months I switched to a wired setup.

The dud keyboard would chew through batteries the same way Disney chews through teenage singers.

Other Thoughts: I tried another name-brand keyboard/mouse combo after the MS 4000 mouse died but the mouse from that company was inaccurate and too small for my hand. I'm not the type that buys the same thing twice so I bought the 5000 model.

Since I'm 50/50 with this keyboard so far I didn't want to press my luck. I was going to buy another OEM model but it was out of stock and the reviews for it weren't that great.

If you're gaming then maybe it would be a better idea to stick to wires.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Great Keyboard and mouse. Great range for the price on this set- about 25ft with no problems I use this gaming from my media center and don't experience any lag.

Cons: The log off button is next to the Calc hot key. big problem unless you are very used to the board

Other Thoughts: Love the programmable hot keys

4 out of 5 eggsGood keyboard

Pros: Ok i've gone through a lot of comfort style keyboards and this one is ok after using for over a year the buttons want to stick a little even after cleaning, BUT if you have kids or a family that likes to accidently spill stuff on your keyboard that causes it to die, this one is a champ how its designed all you have to do is pop off all the keys and clean it up and it works still no problem! That is the one great thing I love about this keyboard.

Cons: Searching for a new keyboard after using this one for awhile there is only one thing I don't get, the "zoom" button on the side...for the whole time i've had this keyboard this button has never worked even once I got no clue what its supposed to be for....so oh well? No big deal really I guess.

Other Thoughts: This keyboard is loud meaning you will hear every darn click you type with it but as I wear head phones 99% of the time while on my computer it dosen't bother me at all. I am a heavy typer in the first place lol.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Ergonomic keyboard is nice.

Cons: Mouse is aweful. Using my wireless logitech laser mouse instead which by the way is great.
-2 stars for half of the product (the mouse) being lame.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Teachers!

Pros: First: To the people who write honest, technically oriented reviews on this site -- Thanks! You've save me lots of grief and time during builds. As for this Keyboard and mouse set, it is great for teachers using Smart Boards in various classroom set ups/layouts. It's range (with good lithium batteries) easily surpasses the 6 ft. spec on distance. I use/have used one for a couple years. I'm buying 3 more for classroom use.

Cons: This set takes some getting used to the various key assignments available by software. If a person lacks patience to learn to set up the keyboard and mouse to fit their particular situation, it might not be advisable for them to use especially if they accidentally hit a programmed key that causes a reaction they didn't expect. Not a con for everyone.

Other Thoughts: The price can't be beat for the set. It makes life easier for the teachers I help through volunteer work at school. The best thing to do is use high end lithium batteries for range.

3 out of 5 eggsKeyboard

Pros: Keyboard is very durable spilled both beer and water on it, removed batteries and rinsed it off and after drying it worked for two more years. After three years 'e' and 't' are starting to go.

Great wrist pad.

Useful buttons.

Cons: Mouse stopped working after two years. Got another mouse and that stopped working too.

Can't remember some things like zoom ever working.

Range is about 5 feet.

Other Thoughts: Keyboard is very durable and comfortable. Range sucks.
