5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: Best keyboard I've owned since my last Microsoft ergonomic. 30 bucks, can't go wrong.

Cons: None!

5 out of 5 eggsThe Keyboard

Pros: I've been using these keyboards for years, as about a decade ago I started getting sore hands. While I don't know if these keyboards are perfect, they quickly eliminated the pain I was feeling.

Every couple of years I replace one but they never actually die. The lettering just rubs off. It doesn't matter if I get them wet. They dry out and start working again.

Now I have these keyboards everywhere. You can tell the latest one because, of course, the lettering is all there. ;)

I like the ability to raise and lower it, too. Gives me flexibility.

Cons: Media keys are a pointless added expense and complexity. While on a laptop I love media keys, I've never used them for a desktop.

I've never found the raised plastic insert comfortable, but that might have as much to do with my desk and chair as anything else.

Other Thoughts: An added advantage is that my coworkers won't mess with my computer, as they hate natural keyboards. :)

Pros: ergonomic design

Cons: Very sticky keys, especially space key. It doesn't response well. Some keys' size are weird, not so comfortable as I thought.

5 out of 5 eggsMS Ergonomic 4000

Pros: This keyboard just seems to be a natural way to type. I have been using this type of keyboard for at least 6 years. I have heard that some people find it hard to get used to. But once using them they love it.

Cons: Price when not on sale for a wired keyboard. Price $49.99 when not on sale but $19.99 when NewEgg has a sale.

Other Thoughts: For me the only keyboard to buy. I am stocking up on this keyboard. When I wear out my present 4000 I will have one on hand.

3 out of 5 eggsFantastic....IF

Pros: Love this keyboard, it's a lifesaver if you have arthiritis.

Cons: As stated by another review, don't get near it with liquid! Bam - gone - i even had them quit working in Texas where the humidity is high. Any minuscule amount of liquid, you will need another. Unfortunately there is no competitive product. Microsoft has replaced them but its a huge pain to do it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood keyboard - letters disappear

Pros: I have used Microsoft ergonomic split keyboard ever since they came out many years ago. Very hard for me to use a regular keyboard now. Good thing is most people would shy away from using my computer at work because of the unique design which is perfectly fine with me.

Cons: I must have acid fingers because the letters go away after about a year, especially WASD since I play games sometimes. I wish MS would remedy this.

Other Thoughts: Fading letters either make the user a better touch typist or is a tactic for planned obsolescence.

3 out of 5 eggsShift key gets sticky with use.

Pros: We really like this keyboard; respectively, we have purchased several of them from Newegg. We especially like: key layout and functions, it has a cord, it's responsive, the contoured ergonomic shape; the keyboard being raised in the front; and, the separation of the left and right sides of the keyboard.

Cons: The space bar mechanism is weak and often fails to function when it is pressed. When the keyboard gets older this become a problem that renders the keyboard next to useless. Therefore, if you are like us and like this keyboard in every other way, plan on having to replace it about once a year to have it remain serviceable.

Other Thoughts: Though this keyboard is my favorite keyboard, the space bar problem is untenable. Respectively, we have long been looking for something to replace it with. Quite frankly, we would love it if Microsoft would simply split the spacebar in two and provide two separate spacebars so the mechanism doesn't have to stretch across and stay level for both sides to function.

Pros: Ergonomic

Cons: "X" key stopped working one day. A quick google search showed that others are having the same issue.
Stay away from this keyboard!

5 out of 5 eggsIt has Improved!

Pros: The keyboard is ergonomically designed, yet it isn't too pricey. The keys are quiet and don't stick. I've got medium sized hands and I find it comfortable to use.

Cons: I owned another Microsoft Natural 4000 keyboard, and the worst part about it is that it is not easy to clean. Lots of screws, and the keys don't come out easily.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, I bought another one of these a few years back, and even though the model number and version are the same, there are some differences between the two.

First of all, the keys are quieter. None of the keys stick like that had before. So it has gotten a bit better. There are now more hotkeys than before.

There are quite a few aesthetic changes as well: The labels on the letter keys are now centered instead of aligned to the left. The Backspace, Enter and Shift Keys on the right are now aligned to the right instead of the left. The Zoom bar in the middle of the keyboard is no longer labeled. Instead of arrow keys like ← the arrows now look like < . The Icons for the top row of keys has changed, and they are no longer labeled. The Back and Forward keys are no longer labeled either. And they changed the Microsoft logo and the Windows design, of course.

The funny thing is that the design on the box looks like the old version, with just the Windows and Microsoft labels changed. The image they have here is of the old one too.
