1 out of 5 eggsNot so great

Pros: Lights up

Cons: For a gaming keyboard, space bar gave out right after the year, contacted microsoft, and wanted to replace with a 39.99 wireless keyboard. Not such a great value. Now I will go with another brand of keyboard. I had bought an i-rocks keyboard, and its still standing. Better than the gaming keyboard. Also older i-rocks keyboard and do not have no issues. My suggest, go with logitech. They will take care of you, not try to cheat you by providing a cheaper item. They have always honored the price that the item is at.

Other Thoughts: Within these years, the only two items that I've purchased with the microsoft brand, have given out. And microsoft cannot take care of me. They will not take care of you either. Microsoft representative stated that this item is discontinued and they do not have any more available to replace. And also stated that twice a week someone calls for issues with the sidewinder products. That means that the product is not up to gaming standards. Invest in a company that will take care of you.

5 out of 5 eggsVery excellent keyboard!

Pros: Red illuminated lights are helpful. Drivers were easily detected, no hassle. The Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center software is easy to use. My WPM (words per minute) has improved. I dig the calculator button. Brightness feature is good. The volume mixed is really useful. The macros are easy to use, helpful when it comes to my laziness of opening websites and apps. Satisfying keyboard typing noise.

Cons: The back cord is sort of delicate. Don't bend it... The tip of the cord that is connected to my keyboard is almost half way out, but it's still usable. However, that is my fault. Other than that, no other cons.

Other Thoughts: If I cannot afford to purchase a mechanical keyboard in the future (when my sidewinder x4 decides to break), I would MOST definitively purchase this keyboard again.

4 out of 5 eggsStill works perfectly after 2 years, but keys are starting to degrade.

Pros: Functionally, this keyboard still works perfectly after 2 years of use. A solid purchase with no complaints.

Cons: The "E," "A," and "S" keys are starting to erode, meaning that the black and white paint on the keys is starting to come off, resulting in illegible clear keys. I can only assume that as time goes on, this will happen to more and more keys that are heavily used.

2 out of 5 eggsNot impressed

Pros: Illumination on this thing is even and covers all keys, great when the lights are out. Keys are not loud in the slightest bit. Made it easier to do grad school work late at night.

Cons: Just too "compact".... My fingers are constantly hitting the Caps Lock, causing me to stop what I'm doing to undo it. I've already disconnected this thing and had a buddy give me his old Saitek Eclipse. Which is exactly what I replaced with the Sidewinder. To me, this one was simply a "dud"

Other Thoughts: I have a standard Dell keyboard at the office, I believe that the Saitek mimics the Dell a lot, so that there is no adjustment from work to home in how I type. With the Sidewinder, there was. I know I'm not the only person who feels this way.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT KEYBOARD!!!

Pros: This keyboard has a great layout, but it will take some getting used to, if you are coming from a regular keyboard because of the macros on the left. The backlight is also great and has many levels!

Cons: If the backlight was RGB it would be a perfect keyboard!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: quiet keystrokes
backlit
6 macro keys
no sleep/power button
brightness control
3 different profiles for macro keys
calculator shortcut button
good price

Cons: one of the plastic risers on the back broke after a year
more than likely my own fault not deducting an egg

Other Thoughts: should have got another as a spare and for travel

5 out of 5 eggsOnly Microsoft product that does not crash

Pros: Backlit keys make it easy to use in low light.
Still works after a few years.

Cons: Microsoft name. (I dislike Microsoft.)

Other Thoughts: It would be nice to be able to change the color light.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful for Office Use

Pros: I purchased the Siderwinder X4 for office use. I am Site Technician at an Industrial Worksite and have to work with the same type of entries every day. The programmable keys let me save hundreds of strokes each day as I can program a key for repetitive entries and press a key or two instead of having to type the whole entry over and over. This may be a game keyboard, but for Office work, it is the best production purchase I have made to date. Thank you to the person that mentioned it in the review I read at New Egg.

Cons: Not Wireless

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: Great feel, cool back light, keys are pretty smooth and spaced well.

Cons: There's an issue every now and then when the windows key gets stuck. So most of the keys turn into shortcuts. Once I mashed a bunch of keys and that turned it off, but I can't replicate it now. The only solution is a reboot. Kind of annoying.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable Keyboard

Pros: I've owned this keyboard since 2011
it's never ghosted or gone crazy on me once
This keyboard is a good price, but it lasts a while and responds great. I only recently replaced it due to it becoming a tad noisy after very heavy use for the past 3 years, I would recommend this keyboard to anyone who's looking, and of course the red glow makes it pretty.

Cons: None besides after 3 years the noise, but that was after years of heavy abuse.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to anyone who needs a reliable keyboard
