1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the 20 bucks when it was on sale.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Terrible range and input lag.
The mouse works fine at about 4-7 feet. The keyboard with direct line of sight to the receiver barely works as I am typing this. It is about 18 inches away. I have an older version of this which works fine. I bought this on sale to use for a portable mouse and keyboard combo. After writing this I am going snap the keyboard in half and put in the trash where it belongs. DO NOT BUY. Spend a few more bucks and get something better.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, will buy again, but mouse has power switch, use or it will run down

Pros: Very good range ~20 ft. No problems, even after many drops by my 7 yr. old. Keyboard doesn't have a power switch you need to turn on. Good layout. Good price.

Cons: Mouse can run down if left on, but not as quickly as another brand I've used.
No lights on keyboard to show caps/num lock. -Tradeoff for not having switch.

Other Thoughts: Will buy it again. Compact, on the small side. I've had lots of troubles with Microsoft products, but looks like they fixed them. Borderline on 5 egg rating.

2 out of 5 eggsVery disappointed with this perticular purchase

Pros: I purchased 1 of these about a year ago and it's still going strong. I liked it so much that I've recommended it and I've purchased an additional one as a gift.

Cons: 2nd purchased as a gift is no good. 3 feet away and the keyboard fails to communicate. I've replaced the batteries and I've moved the USB dongle to the front of the computer but it continues to fail. Not happy.

5 out of 5 eggsMicrosoft keyboards & mice are the best

Pros: Quality construction, good warranty

Cons: Mouse goes through batteries every 4-6 months, but that's normal for most wireless mice.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because of how durable my Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 4000 and Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 have been. I've had them for almost 5 years now. Most other brands only last two or three years for me. I've been using this Desktop 800 set for over 2 years now.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Good for Coding

Pros: Keyboard is cheap but feels sturdy and connects well. Mouse and keyboard use a single dongle freeing up USB ports.

Cons: Not good for coding because the Backspace/Insert/Home/Page Up/Num Lock keys are right next to each other. Normally there are gaps between Backspace/insert and Page Up/Num Lock. Because there are no gaps between the keys it's hard to feel if I'm pressing Page Up/Page Down or the keys next to each other.

The Function keys are also very small and hard to locate without looking down at the keys.

The mouse is a little laggy, it isn't too bad but I can tell the difference between the mouse and a $25 usb mouse.

3 out of 5 eggsDeteriorating quality

Pros: Good function at a distance for HTPC. Good battery life until later models were cut to one battery.

Cons: On two of these units the scroll wheel has come loose from its axle. Because of this I have switched brands.

Other Thoughts: I have bought five of these units over the last three years. The last two have had the batteries in the mouse cut from two to one, cutting the battery life in half. Then there's the above mentioned scroll wheel. Seems I've seen a pattern here, taking a good product and screwing it up. Way to go, MS.

1 out of 5 eggsVoided order, no reason given

Pros: This is a review on pcRUSH not the product.

Cons: Avoid pcRUSH not a reliable vendor, no communication as to why order was voided.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from pcRUSH horrible vendor, had to place another order and incurred additional shipping charges that could of been avoided.
