3 out of 5 eggsAre you feeling lucky?

Pros: Cheap, especially on sale. Volume and Play/Pause. Ins/Home/PgUp key layout.

Cons: Sticky keys. We've had both the CTRL and SHIFT key get stuck and make everything you are doing go wacky. Wasn't easy to figure out at first. Gotta pound on the key until it unsticks. Arrow keys kind of crowded and volume play/pause in weird spot over the keypad.

Other Thoughts: $10 + shipping is a great deal if you get one that works.

4 out of 5 eggsKeyboard

Pros: As far as discount budget keyboards this one is the best. Under $20 you cant go wrong. I have used these for years.

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: Best cheap keyboard around

2 out of 5 eggsMS only provides generic software support for the thing

Pros: It works as a basic keyboard

Cons: Windows only recognizes it as a generic USB keyboard. There are no MS drivers for it. There is no software customization possible for it. If you go to the MS website you will find a "mouse & Keyboard Center" download associated with it but all that does is turn off the little generic support found for any keyboard within the control panel so that you are left with exactly zero configuration options for the thing.

3 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for.

Pros: It plugs into most computers. Keys have a decent feel. I've owned it for almost a year, and it still functions as a keyboard.

Cons: This thing will not get you too far. Again, after owning it for almost a year (for gaming and general use) I feel like a masochist.

You get what you pay for, and that's a relatively cheap, plastic keyboard. The uber gloss surrounding the keys gets incredibly dirty, detracting from the overall look. I have a desk lamp that gleens off of it, and it tends to blind me.

The keys have almost completely worn out. The backspace key only works if I tap it on the right side. The space bar key sticks and pops randomly if I click it on the right side. Pressing shift and = doesn't yield a +.

The placement of the WASD keys tends to make my hands cramp, and I have smaller hands.

There are no stands on the bottom of the board, so you are stuck with a keyboard that lays flat on your desk. In lieu of this, the little grippers on the bottom of the board haven't held my keyboard in place for months. It slips everywhere.

Other Thoughts: Yes, I've been using this for gaming. It will get you by. But I do not recommend buying this keyboard for anything other than office use or just general typing.

1 out of 5 eggsnice... unless you want to type

Pros: Nice, value keyboard line from Microsoft. Rise in the center promotes more natural hand position.

Cons: Key positions are anti-ergonomic -- worse than a standard keyboard!

Look at the pictures, and specifically the angle of the QAZ keys. The Z key further right than the W key! It forces the left hand to curl in this ridiculous position to hit it with your pinky. And then you have to press it with the side of your finger. Or force an even sharper wrist angle to hit it (then you can't hit the Q). Or just have you move your hand position if you want to hit the key with the pad of your finger.

None of this is efficient, if you want to type. It's also ironic that the ergonomic slope makes this worse.

Other Thoughts: This keyboard might be ok for the normal computer user, but I would say anyone going at 60+ wpm would have issues.

I'm also not a fan of midget function keys, but then again I use them a lot.

This is not a worthy successor to the 2000.

5 out of 5 eggsMy favorite

Pros: Keys feel good
Layout works for me
Works in BIOS / UEFI

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Abandoned excellent Microsoft wireless keyboard because it was useless in BIOS, which I visit frequently.

4 out of 5 eggsMostly comfortable

Pros: Good key feel, quiet, ergonomic.
I like that it has volume, and calculator buttons.
For the price, it's a very good value.

Cons: Most keyboards have little feet on the back to adjust their angle. This one does not, and it can cause quite a bit of wrist fatigue after a very short while. With some adjustment to your typing position this can be partially mitigated, but not entirely relieved.

5 out of 5 eggsThe perfect keyboard.

Pros: Just purchased this keyboard recently. The shape and layout of this keyboard is great for gaming, and the ergo style is really nice for my hands and fingers. I have been diagnosed with dactylitis which is an inflammatory arthritis condition. For only 14.99, NewEgg has really shown their colors with this one. Thanks NewEgg!

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I have had countless Microsoft keyboards. The curved keyboard that you can even buy at Wallie-World is a decent model. Sadly this is one area where Microsoft has nailed it.

1 out of 5 eggsToo Small & No Stand, U get what U pay 4

Pros: It was black which is easy to clean. It was also very cheap. It looked very nice. It gleamed alot.

Cons: Too small, keys stuck and no tilt stand.

Other Thoughts: I got this keyboard on at a well known online auction house for 18 bucks. I thought it was a great deal until I got it. Then I discovered how small it was. My fingers had difficulty finding the keys. Some of the keys also stuck together. Another major problem was there were no legs for the keyboard making it lie flat with no tilt.

I thought that by buying a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard I would be purchasing something similar to my Microsoft Natural Elite. I WAS WRONG. Do not buy this for that reason. Spend the extra money and get something you can use. This had too many hidden problems.

Right now I am using it as a backup and am purchasing a more expensive one.
