Maximum Comfort, Customized for You

With its contoured design, customizable features that easily adjust to your needs, and a specially designed, right-handed mouse, Sculpt Comfort Desktop transforms the way you use a keyboard and mouse. It helps you keep your wrists in a neutral position, while providing functionality and shortcuts that improve typing efficiency.

Modern Modular Design

The sleek design and comfort curve layout keep keys within easy reach, while straightening wrists with ergonomic palm support that protects against inflammation and repetitive stress injuries. The split spacebar offers new backspace functionality to help you make the most of your keystrokes. Tight workspace? Sculpt Comfort Desktop can be easily customized to save space, and offer a more compact look, by detaching the palm rest.

Windows 8 Integration

Sculpt Comfort Desktop perfectly integrates with Windows 8. The keyboard hotkeys provide shortcuts to the most commonly used keyboard functions. The Windows Touch tab, a touch-sensitive strip located on the side of the mouse, enables you to take advantage of swiping functionality as you navigate the Start screen.

Designed for Comfort

The Sculpt Comfort Keyboard is packed with ergonomic features including a contoured keyset, removable padded palm rest, and palm lift. These features are designed to encourage a more natural, relaxed positioning of the arms, hands and wrist, providing greater comfort and helping to avoid injury during extended use.

Built for Productivity

Microsoft believes in the constant pursuit of excellence, and is always looking for ways to improve the comfort and productivity of our hardware. The new split spacebar with backspace functionality on the Sculpt Comfort Keyboard is the perfect example. Research shows that 90% of people use only their right thumb to hit the space bar, and that the backspace key is one of the most frequently used keys on a keyboard. Knowing this, Microsoft Hardware designers built a larger, split spacebar that includes a backspace bar on the left-hand side. The new design helps improve typing speed and provide improved comfort.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what it is supposed to

Pros: Responsive, attractive, one dongle for both pieces. Slight ergonomics, not uber modern like some.

Cons: No back/ forward button, only windows button. Scroll wheel a little clunky. Space bar split which is awkward. My biggest complaint is there isn't enough space between the arrows and the control key and the delete and backspace keys. Sliding switch for function keys (could be good or bad, I see it as a negative). Mouse is glossy while keyboard is matte, not a good match. Mouse smaller than I prefer but could work for those who prefer a smaller mouse.

Other Thoughts: If I had not gotten it on sale, I would have sent it back. It will make a good back up set but I am going with Razer for everyday use.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat stuff

Pros: Love the feel of this keyboard. Have been a Microsoft Natural Keyboard fan from way back in the day. I had a Logitech Gaming keyboard that was very boring. Sure it had the lights and all, but it was a straight up keyboard. This new Microsoft Sculpt keyboard and mouse feel amazing. I love the fact that you can tilt up the front of the keyboard and rest your palms on the soft touch rubber surface. Feels very comfortable. The keys have a nice soft sound to them. Not overly clicky but have decent feedback. The mouse is pretty standard. Feels very nice and has excellent tactile feedback. Both devices feel of high quality. Great stuff.

Cons: No cons to speak of. Microsoft has always made top of the line hardware products.

Other Thoughts: The rubber palm rest is removable. For an even smaller footprint. I like the palm rest, so it stays.

3 out of 5 eggsNo Pause/Break Button!!!

Pros: The curve is nice and the extra feature keys are convenient. I like the switch between Fn and regular keys rather than holding down an Fn button. Some seem to find that annoying.

Cons: Be aware there is no Pause/Break button on this keyboard. There's nothing in the software that enables that function. Pretty bizarre, as a lot of programs use it, including some nice Windows keyboard shortcuts, like Windows Key + Pause to open the System control panel.

The Windows touch tab seemed kind of cool at first, but accidentally swiping it so many times and going back and forth in browsers and even text editors got a little annoying, so I had to disable the feature.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good Keyboard, comfortable, strong build

Cons: I accidentally pushed my computer next to the wall and the USB adapter that comes with the keyboard/mouse was bent slightly which caused it to stop working - Microsoft DOES NOT have a solution for this. If you lose or break your usb adapter they will NOT sell you a new one so you might as well throw the entire keyboard\mouse in the trash.

Unbelievable. After so many years of making keyboards you would think microsoft would use a Unifying USB receiver like Logitech does

ONLY Logitech from now on!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: Easy set-up, flawless operation. Looks good. The "home" button on the side is actually useful.

Cons: The curved keyboard takes getting used to for a hunt and peck typist like me. :-)

Other Thoughts: Solid MS mouse and keyboard.

3 out of 5 eggsJust ok

Pros: Microsoft keyboards and mice have been my favorite for years; good quality stuff.

Cons: The ergo features are no better than previous models, and the Windows button swipe feature on the mouse is not as good as a real button.

Other Thoughts: I always go with Microsoft KB/Mice, but this time I'm going back to the 5000.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: Easy installation, keyboard had good tactile feel

Cons: Mouse and keyboard went through long stretches of time where they did not respond to inputs. Tried repairs on my system and other tweaks but no improvement.

Other Thoughts: Got it as a Christmas gift and expected a nice product because of previous Microsoft keyboard/mouse experience. Very disappointing. Returned it and will get something that will work.
