1 out of 5 eggsWorst Keyboard Ever

Pros: Very ergonomic. Feels good. Back lighting options are very nice.

Cons: Keys stick. After less than a year of use i started getting major problems with it. Once a day at least i would have keys stick while using them, and would have to restart my computer. Also the touchscreen panel sticks, which would cause the lighting to rotate through its options non-stop. I tried deleting drives and re-downloading them to no avail. I looked up as much tech support i could find, short of returning it to Razer. I bought this directly from Razer. I replaced it with a Rosewill mechanical keyboard.

2 out of 5 eggsUhg.

Pros: Keys feel nice, backlighting is always a plus.

Cons: "enter" key seems to stick with all versions of the lycosa. Received 2 faulty keyboards before they sent me the third which is still faulty. The media center keys have a penchant for locking in such a way that it keeps going forward through my music as if I was constantly pushing the button. Previous ones sent to me the standard keys would either stop functioning at random or not function in the first place in addition to the horrific song skipping.

Other Thoughts: I would never purchase another one, and am glad they were discontinued. I bought this keyboard from Woot.com as a replacement for a logitech gaming keyboard I had bought, and regret wasting that money every day since. I'm on my third refurb, and it still doesn't work like it should. Steer clear.

3 out of 5 eggsOne big con

Pros: The blue backlit keys are awesome and go great with my fan lighting scheme. The key height and action are all just the way i want it for gaming. Other than that it's a fairly basic keyboard, which is fine because the action is really what I become most picky about when trying out keyboards.

Cons: I bought the gloss black model and that was a mistake. It gets extremely slick after a short while gaming and it is difficult to keep clean. These pale in comparison to my next con however. I have seen this in many posts online when I went looking into the issue so I know it isn't just me. The flat buttons for the media player will malfunction and engage which causes WMP to pop up. If you close WMP it just pops right back up. You have to unplug the keyboard from your PC or power down your PC or wait a while and it'll stop glitching. Neither of which I enjoy when I'm having a real good online session. Over the last two years This has happened hundreds of times. Why I haven't gotten a new keyboard yet is a wonder. It may have to do with the fact that I paid way too much money for this one and by the time I realized that the keyboard was the cause It was too late to return. I've had it for two years now and I'm done dealing with it. Time for something new. Logitech has never failed me(and my g500 mouse I've had as long as this keyboard is proof of that) and I wanted to try something new this go around. It did not work out. Though I have gotten two years of use out of it and if not for that one HUGE flaw it's still in good working order. And that's why I'm still giving it three stars.

Other Thoughts: All in all it is an extremely basic keyboard that is not worth full price. If you can find it at say 50% off it would be worth it. BE warned of the WMP keys issues though.

2 out of 5 eggsBuy a 10 dollar keyboard

Pros: I love the feel of this keybard when I am typing - a slight step up from that 10 dollar keyboards that you can buy. Great to see the keys in the dark.

Cons: I guess my main issue and I know this is common after the fact is the audio, mic, and two USB feature which is lacking real independence. When I plugin anyone of the three with the audio together, the audio becomes unbearably staticky. So if you are plugging in USB to use the keyboard (you will) it renders the all other audio output useless. There is no visible picture nor enough light to see the media controls which respond half of the time (or I could be the time of the day... ). Typing feels good, but become very unconfortable soon after which doesn't occur with other cheap keyboards... Wait this is not cheap...

Other Thoughts: Other than better typing confort than a cheap 5-10 dollar bearbone keyboards I don't think there is much to it. Usually simplicity wins the prize but not for this price. I recommend almost anyother keyboards.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's pretty, it works well, and it makes switching between speakers and headset easy.

Cons: The ergonomics are kind of poor; this keyboard sits too flat for extended use, in my opinion.

Other Thoughts: Adjustable light levels for the keys would have been nice.

5 out of 5 eggsGaming only Keyboard

Pros: Super fast response time. Great smooth feeling, sharp light effects. Macros are good. Well built, worth the extra cash.

Cons: Only has three light settings(All On, All Off, WASD). Dont try and type your term papers with this, keyboard is not the best for typing alot.

Other Thoughts: I dont use the USB pot on the keyboard apparently its 1.1, I also dont use the audio ports on the keyboard too.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice keyboard

Pros: Solid nice looking backlit keyboard with rubber keys

Cons: Finger prints show up on the sides.

Other Thoughts: Very glad I bought this keyboard I was worried from the reviews that the keys would wear off and that it might break. I read that when they first released these there were technical problems but Razor released a statement saying that they fixed those problems and so far not a glitch. Keyboard seems very solid the rubber keys are very nice and the backlit works well even in lit rooms the only problem is that they get a little blurred if you sit back to far. I am using this with Linux so the drivers and sound control functionality do not apply. I can see were gamers are disappointed with this keyboard as far as functionality but for a nice everyday keyboard this one is definitely above par.

2 out of 5 eggsIT HAS PROBLEMS!!

Pros: It looks good, has good back lighting and keys feel good when they Work!!

Cons: I have bought (3) of these one for my kid and he is always having issues with lock up, unplug and sometimes works again right away, another for a friend that has had same problem. he has researched over the internet and found out that it's not just a quality control issue but a design problem. check it out over the net and you'll see what hes talking about. I never even unboxed mine..lol

Other Thoughts: DON'T BUY IT!!. I was a fan of Razor until this and my Copperhead mouse died after about 6 months. stick with l**tech ,S**tek or even a Z**ard if your into gaming. i have all the above and at least they WORK!. SHAME ON YOU RAZOR

Manufacturer Response:

Razer is aware that a few of the early production Lycosas had this problem. The problem has been corrected. If you are an affected user please see the following link for support information on how to correct this problem.
