Incredible and convenient
- Pros: Slim-type keys reduce finger strain; lighting effects are cool. Razer support is awesome.
- Cons: I got one and the 'z' key didn't work. If you have a keyboard with one or more keys aren't working, it's NOT a driver issue. What, you think it's all software based or something? Geez. Just send it to Razer and they'll get you a new one in less than two weeks. Never had a problem since.
- Other Thoughts: Still can't comprehend how someone could perceive a key not working as some sort of driver problem. That's what my colleagues and I refer to as a PEBKAC. Google it.
Best Available
- Pros: This keyboard is one the best accessories available for any computer setup. Whether you're just a standard user, a gamer, or a professional user, this keyboard stands out. The function buttons are convenient and the included software is intuitive. The hotkeys are great for:
- Keyboard shortcuts (one-touch Ctrl-Alt-Del) - Creativity/productivity programs, such as Adobe CS, MS Office (10 common functions/menu items on keyboard buttons? Yes please) - Macros for gaming. Auto-switching profiles mean that just loading the game loads the macros or hotkeys on a per-game basis
The iPod dock is reliable and perfect. Just the right height that it doesn't get in the way of the screen, it feels like some sort of expensive, custom-tailored setup.
USB and headphone ports are perfect for expanding setups and eliminating cord trails.
Also, the lights and "heartbeat" effects are awesome.
- Cons: I wish the USB ports were 2.0 speed, and Razer should definitely offer a Zune version. This keyboard is one of the only things holding me back from trading my iPod Touch for a Zune HD.
- Other Thoughts: If you're in a dusty environment, wipe it down with a SLIGHTLY damp paper towel.
sorry keyboard
- Pros: Action is OK, but keyboards that sell for 1/2 the price are just as good.
- Cons: The only reason I bought this keyboard, is because it's white. I prefer to work under dim light, and have a difficult time with dark keyboards. I opened this sucker up, and the fools used gray (not black) ink on white, which doesn't show up particularity well under dim light.
However, the one star rating is because the key switches are unreliable. At first, I thought my typing skills needed to adjust to a new keyboard, then I noticed that sometime, a key just quits working. I put my old keyboard back on, because I need all the keys to work all the time.
- Other Thoughts: I've been using a high-end Logitech for several years, and this +$80 keyboard didn't last a month.
