1 out of 5 eggsRandom Keys Don't Work

Pros: I liked the tactile feedback of the switches.

Cons: The keyboard has become unusable. I have multiple keys that either don't register or send multiple key presses when you only press the key once. I am not sure if it is their terrible Synapse 2.0 Software, Driver issue, Firmware or a mechanical issue. I have seen more and more issues popping up around the web with the same problem and with no resolution as of yet. It makes the keyboard useless.

Other Thoughts: Shop around and purchase something else for now :-(

1 out of 5 eggsBroke after 2 years

Pros: Responsive, great performance.

Cons: Broke after 2 years, the E key is sticking like others have mentioned. kept great care of the keyboard as well and it ended up breaking still.

Other Thoughts: Will never buy another razer product again. For an expensive keyboard i'd thought it would have lasted longer than what I've experienced. Truly a shame.

2 out of 5 eggsLasted 3 Years. Will Never Buy Razer Again.

Pros: Great mechanical keys, nice backlight color, painless installation

Cons: It lasted 3 years. The E key sticks like no tomorrow.

I was expecting for a $130+ keyboard for this to last me a lifetime; in the end, isn't that why people buy mechanical keyboards?

Called Razer for support, they told me to download their firmware which only madee thee probleem worsee.

Other Thoughts: Neever buying Razer again.. I took meticulous care of this keyboard and it still broke.

3 out of 5 eggsOkay, Not Great for the Price

Pros: Great tactile feel, the switches work for what they are (CLICKY BLUE ONES), very noisy but I expected that. Decent weight to it.

Cons: It started to double type letters when I wouldn't hold the key depressed for more than was required for a single press. It was random, re-installing the driver did nothing to alleviate this issue.

Other Thoughts: Razer's products just can't hold up to my Gaming Style. By that I don't mean I rage smash things, however I do tend to play quite a bit, and when I'm not gaming I am usually writing code. So they get used excessively.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing keyboard!

Pros: Had and still using this keyboard for over a year now and it still works like charm. The keys never get that stick feeling and is fast as a you can get with typing or gaming.

Cons: Only con i had with this keyboard is if you're going from a non mechanical to the BlackWidow, get ready for some adjustment. Completely different style.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend 100% to any gamer out there.

5 out of 5 eggsA sturdy keyboard!

Pros: The keys are really responsive and they are reliable

Cons: There are no cons that I can think of. I've owned the BlackWidow Ultimate for about three years now, and there isn't a single flaw! Make sure you take care of it (dust and clean it) every month, at least.

Other Thoughts: The mechanical aspect of the keyboard ensures that your typing will be noisy. I believe that Razer released a noiseless version, so look into that if you have roomates or others around, and if they're easily annoyed!

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good So Far...

Pros: Looks Awesome! Love the lighted keys. I do most of my computer work at night and I like the lights out. Un-lighted keyboards can be hard to see in the dark if the screen is dark, but problem solved with the Black Widows lighted keys.

Cons: Once, my kids accidentally configured a few of the keys to type different letters (eg. the D key actually typed an F). This was very frustrating until I figured out what happened. This doesn't lower the NewEgg rating though as it was not a problem with the keyboard. But I did want to make note of this. To solve, I went into the software for the keyboard and set things back to normal... No Problems!

The keys are a little noisier than I would have liked but not noisy enough for me to want to return it. Used to it now.

Other Thoughts: Love the BLUE glow of this 2012 model. (Just ordered the 2013 model for a new build - Emerald Green looks really good).

I'm not a "real" gamer, so I cannot comment on it's gaming potential, sorry.

1 out of 5 eggsPOC

Pros: Keys are functional

Cons: LEDs G V T are out. What a POC. Razer support does not exist! Synapse software does not work.

Other Thoughts: POC I expect more from $100 keyboard!

At least acknowledgement of a defective product and some resolution compensation?

Manufacturer Response:
