1 out of 5 eggsRazer, 3 strikes your out!

Pros: Looks and works good for a while

Cons: I bought one for my wife, an occasional MMO gamer and it is acting up. The "2" is intermittent. it is out of 1 year warranty. The Razer website says they dont repair them, buy another one........I dont think so! I had a Razer Lycossa Keyboard and it worked over a year and when GW2 came out it started ghosting, after trying everything, I had to use my old Logitech (no lighting).
My son-in law also has an Anansi that he says it is to the point that you cant hardly enter a password, TrasH.
3 strikes your out Razer.

Other Thoughts: We all have Razer Mice devices that work reliably, but stay away from Razer keyboards, unreliable.

2 out of 5 eggsNot happy whit it

Pros: Kyboard font looks awesome (anoyying for my cousin)
7 thumb keys are more useful then you think
"M" keys are good if you can reach it
volum controls are good

Cons: shift key is really hard
only 3 backlight brightness level
space bar and keys starting to wear out (get bright) after 1 week of use
requires 2 USB ports
hard to clean and gets dirty easily
backlight isnt bright
had some wasd keys problem (my char keep running for itself)

they say "Designed for gamers" but i dont really think this is usable for games really !

Other Thoughts: the WASD keys problem fixed by Upgrading the firmwares but it was kind of dissapotion to see a gaming keyboard has such problem.

keys start to wear out super fast , and M keys are hard to reach for me ! (i play violin from when i was kid ! so my little finger is long !)

the keybaord sceen also is super hard to clean

takes time to boot at start, i ahve dualboot and somtimes i need to restart my pc to get to the BIOS

overall it looks cool! and im not that dissapointed.

also dont really get interested in backlight, it was cool only for a day and got normal for me and i almost never used it.

shift key is hard ! also keys make loud sound

1 out of 5 eggsKeys didn't work from the start

Pros: The keyboard looks great, the thumb keys are awesome for a game like Star Wars Republic Commando even though it isn't an MMO, just because I can bind them to F1-4 to tell my squad mates to form up and stuff.

The backlight uses different colors which can be set in Synapsis 2.0.

The keys feel like they were for a laptop, which I actually really like, and they seem extremely easy to type on.

Cons: The first game I tested on was Republic Commando to make use of the thumb keys. Within a few minutes of playing, one of my squad mates was incapacitated, so I went to revive him. When I tried to revive him, it would go in, then out, then in, then out as though I was reviving and would stop. I first thought I was just getting hit and whatnot, and then it happened when I tried to heal myself. PLUS, it would call an order, and recall the order, so no one would revive anyone because it told them to, and then to back off.

Turns out, the "E" and "B" keys are both broken. They will occasionally work, but most of the time they either don't register at all, or register twice ( hitting E once = ee). This REALLY sucks when I need to type out an essay or something like that (which I tried to do to get the feel of it) and I'm constantly having to mash the "B" or "E" keys, and then backspace when it registers it multiple times (even when only pressed once).

Another con is that the backlight is VERY dim. I had to turn off all the lights near me just to see them well, and they still looked purple rather than blue.

Like everyone else says, it uses two USB ports which I don't necessarily mind, except that I only have two USB 2.0 slots on the back of my case (where I plug in my peripherals), so I have to waste a 3.0 slot with my mouse. This isn't as much of a problem, I actually knew it was going to need two slots but I purchased it anyways since I have six ports on the back (four of which are 3.0), three on the front, and then four on my monitor.

The last problem is not so much the keyboard itself, but more the Synapsis 2.0 program. I tried to use it and was displeased at the fact that you can't set one profile to be used in different .exe files. This is a problem because I play Skyrim with SKSE, but I want the profile to load when either syrim.exe OR skse_loader.exe are run. This downside is something that Logitech actually allows you to do, as I have the Logitech G500s mouse that I can allow one profile to be used in multiple .exes (which is great if you don't remember which .exe is the one you actually use).

Other Thoughts: Overall, I was very displeased with this keyboard, and I am sending it back to Woot (where I purchased it) to HOPEFULLY get it replaced. But, because the deal has ended over at Woot, I will most likely have to just get my money back, and switch over to Logitech because then I only need to use one software for my keyboard and mouse.

If I can get another Anansi out of this, and I get one that ACTUALLY works and I don't have to keep correcting it's errors, I will come back and change my review to a 4 Egg (-1 for the dim backlight even on full brightness).

5 out of 5 eggsWow!

Pros: LCD key lighting in ANY color. Great response. Any key can be remapped as well as it has 5 macros down the side and 7 on the thumb making complex in game tasks easy and in quick reach. Spacing between the keys is gaped enough to allow easy access with a can of spray air or key removal for heavy cleaning.

Cons: The layout takes some getting used to. Keys have this forward, away from you feel, with the board laying flat. Letter keys feel kind of close together when you type so a lot of miss hit keys at first. Not really an issue as this is on me not the keyboard. After some time with it you start to adjust.

Other Thoughts: I picked this up as a bundle with the Razer Naga 2014 for use in Mechwarrior Online. I had synapse installed already through their promotional offer and it picked up this and the new mouse easily. Overall it was worth the $150 for the combo this site offered and it arrived here in Las Vegas the very next day.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Cool looking keyboard, and great while it worked like it was supposed to.
I didn't buy this off Newegg and forgot to read reviews.

Cons: After about a month of minecraft, bf3, etc, the left shift key began to stick. I realized that if I push down in a specific area, it works slightly better. If I can, I'm going to see if I can return the keyboard. If the key failure can get fixed, i'll say this is a decent product.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat mid-level gaming keyboard

Pros: I am very pleased with how well this keyboard has behaved so far. Before making this purchase I browsed all the reviews for the top 10 gaming keyboards and it seemed so hit and miss. It was either the person was incredibly pleased and had no issues vs. the unit broke down in a few months time or keys began malfunctioning.

I decided on Razer because I have had their Death Adder gaming mouse for about 6 months now and had nothing but a pleasant experience with it.

The Synapse 2.0 software was actually great and easy to use unlike some bundled software that often feels like an after thought. It is not needed to use the keyboard, but you will need it to adjust the backlighting colors, brightness, and of course the macros.

Since this is not a true mechanical keyboard like their more extreme black widow series, the keys do not have the distinct "click-clack" sound when being depressed. That being said, the keys are plenty firm and I would not call them "soft" by any means.

Cons: Although not enough to take a full egg off, I do wonder why two USB cables are required. You are definitely going to want to make sure you have two free slots to use this model. I don't know enough about power consumption and the power available via USB to make an informed opinion, but I do know that backlit keyboards with only one USB cable exist. If two ports is a show stopper then you do have other options available to you.

4 out of 5 eggsHappy with it so far.

Pros: Backlit
Macro keys
Has gaming mode to turn off Alt-Tab, Windows key, and Alt-F4
Easy to type on

Cons: Backlight isn't powerful enough

Other Thoughts: It's a great keyboard for just typing and gaming. The MMO label make sense, given that it has the macro keys and the thumb buttons. The thumb buttons do take some getting-used to, but it's by no means a con, as they are useful. I'll update in time, and with use.

2 out of 5 eggsReturning, and here's why

Pros: Neat layout. Pretty lights. Readable keyboard font. A wealth of programmable keys.

Cons: Two USB plugs; does not function with my KVM on just one. Needlessly wide. Poor feel on the keys.

Other Thoughts: Note, I did _not_ buy this from Newegg. But I like this site, use it a lot, and actually read reviews here. And so I'm giving back.

Okay, lots to follow-up in in a more narrative, expository way.

FIRST I need to point out that I use a KVM switch and this keyboard is apparently not really meant for that. NO deduction in opinion based on that -- that's my setup, clearly not the use-case for this item.

FWIW -- IOGear, 4-port, DSUB KVM switch.

However, that it does not work at all when running off one USB plug is very disappointing. IMO, if you need two plugs to run one peripheral, you're doing it wrong. As a few other online reviews have said, if there were a USB pass-through it might make more sense.

Wide. I mean the flares on the edge have nice eye-appeal, but form does not follow function here. It infringes upon my mouse area on my keyboard tray. There's no need or point.

They key feel is a result of not being mechanical switches. What should I expect there. I'm disappointed, but that's like being disappointed that an apple isn't an orange. Shut-up and get an orange already! (Hey, I'm yelling at myself -- I can do that...)

If I reduced all the factors to simply the keyboard usage, my only nit would be the feel of the keys. The stroke feels cheap like a stock keyboard that comes with a computer. The stroke is resistant, scratchy, and literally made me recoil. I don't want to touch the keys again as it was like nails on a chalkboard.

So, I'm going to shut-up and get an orange already. I'm going to get a keyboard, with one USB plug, that has mechanical switches. Honestly, truly, I wish Razer sold one. But they don't offer that option, so my money goes elsewhere.

I have two Razer mice -- one is an old Copperhead that I've repaired and raised from the dead. I like both of them. This is the first time I have been disappointed by a Razer product.
