4 out of 5 eggsGood - probably could be better

Pros: Good backlighting
MX Blues (Mechanical, clicky sound)
Some Macro buttons (if you're into that)
Awesome key layout (not too far away, but not tight together)

Cons: Finish gets fingerprints on it easily (doesn't really bug me, but it's pretty bad)
My "R" key is making a weird ringing sound... Maybe just needs to be broken in though.

Other Thoughts: It's a sweet keyboard, an awesome jump from non-mechanical. The sound is a little loud and could be annoying if you're gaming or whatever, but I play Skyrim and it doesn't bug me.

Typing code or any text is a blast. So satisfying! Playing a game like Diablo that has little keyboard use also makes your attacks feel more satisfying... CLICK = SMASH!!!

I dunno, I wouldn't say this is the best keyboard ever, but for the 100 bucks I payed for it on sale, I'm not complaining.

Overall: I'm happy with it as the 4/5 says :-)

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a solid keyboard

Pros: I love mechanical keyboards, and this one feels great!
Each key is individually lit, and bright.
The macro functionality is a nice addition also.

Cons: I have a problem with the price. I feel that if I'm paying $120, the keyboard needs to have the extra keys like the Anansi, and multi-color LEDs as well.

Other Thoughts: It would be really cool, if the panel for your headset on the side of the keyboard, included and Optical Audio port for convenience.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat but LOUD

Pros: Despite other reviews saying the back light doesn't go very bright, mine was more then bright enough. In fact i only had it on 25% brightness when i used it. The extra 5 function keys were easy to program using Razer's Synapse 2.0 (which lets you do pretty much everything the keyboard has to offer). The keyboard also has an extra USB port on the right hand side of it including an audio port and a mic port which is very convenient if anyone uses a mic for gaming or skype and whatnot.

Cons: EXTREMELY LOUD TYPING. Now i realize the triggers on the keys are supposed to be faster for typing but it is just incredibly loud when clicking any button. My girlfriend and I finally got fed up by the second day we had the keyboard before we decided to send it back.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted about 4 months

Pros: Green backlight looks nice
Braided cable is nice
USB and audio passthrough is handy

Cons: Bought this keyboard on April the 7th, now I can barely type a sentence without random keys being typed. It is massively frustrating when I work from home and depend on my keyboard. Bought a Razer Arctosa and wasn't thrilled with it, but decided to try again with this one. Never again!

3 out of 5 eggsOld school

Pros: Solid! Heavy.

Cons: Not a standard layout from today's keyboard standards (windows key, alt key and the like). This is an old school keyboard with old school tactile click. If you are looking for a more standard (today) tactile click this is not your keyboard. I found it to be terrible for gaming. Any side pressure on a key (such as when using ASDW for movement) will simply stick. It expects direct pressure.

Other Thoughts: This is a well built keyboard. Why aren't the Lycosa keyboards built this way?? Reminds me of the old IBM terminal keyboards. Cool but not right for me. My own fault.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat keyboard, with a couple of issues

Pros: Tactile feedback is great, click sounds awesome. It's a real pleasure to type on this keyboard. I can type faster and more accurately than I could on the Apple keyboard. Backlighting is great at night, and has a wide range of adjustment from off to very bright. Apple keyboard layout and function keys work well, with one exception (see cons)

Cons: The screen brightness keys do not work. F1 and F2 work when the function keys are active ("gaming mode"), but the brightness functions do not. Strangely, F13 and F14, which are marked only as function keys, control the screen brightness. The F2 key doesn't click, I think it got a different switch than the rest of the keys.

Other Thoughts: Besides the few minor problems I noted above, it's a very nice keyboard and I'm pretty happy with it. I gave it 4 eggs instead of 5 because of those defects. I may exchange it for a new one, but it's not a big deal so I may not bother.

The Mac version of the Synapse 2.0 software is buggy. Changing settings profiles from the menu bar doesn't always work properly. I have to open Synapse and change it from there. If Razer worked out the bugs to the software they would have a stellar product.

5 out of 5 eggsNot what I expected

Pros: -Does the clicking sounds I love hearing :)
-Has macro keys that you can program
-Light is bright on the keys
-The buttons positions are actually really nice for my hands movements

Cons: -It's a MAC version so run it on iOS so you won't be confused (I use it on a Windows OS)

Other Thoughts: It really is a great keyboard. I just had trouble with it at first because I'm used to regular style keyboards.

5 out of 5 eggsBest In Class

Pros: I did hours of research before purchasing my first mechanical keyboard and this was the clear winner. The price is reasonable, it has all the features, and it happens to be the best looking keyboard out there.

This is by far the best keyboard I have ever owned, and I have owned a few. I love typing on this thing. The keys feel and sound wonderful. It is a whole different typing experience. If you are a programmer this is worth every penny.

I was skeptical about the macros, but I am really enjoying them. I have one that types out a generic for loop and another to hit the weird hotkey combo to collapse all methods.

Oh and it looks amazing. It is just classy. The backlighting looks great coming through the keys and can go very bright. I usually keep it at a relatively low setting so as not to be distracting.

Works with both Mac and Windows.

Cons: The software.

I purchased the Mac version so it would be fully compatible and partly so I would not have a Windows symbol on my keyboard. After installing the driver about 10 keys stopped working. I uninstalled and now it works fine, but I can not use any of the macro features on my Mac.

What's more is I plugged the keyboard into my Windows gaming rig, installed the software, and everything worked fine.

I am extremely disappointed that I paid $20 extra for full Mac compatibility and didn't get it.

Other Thoughts: Fix your Mac software.

4 out of 5 eggsRazer Blackwidow Ultimate Mac Edition

Pros: Nice Packaging
Nice Keys and Backlight
Sturdy Build
Great Typing Feel
Mac Specific Keys
Price isn't too high compared to other mechanical keyboards

Cons: Razer Synapse 2.0 is a little bit annoying
Macro recording takes a few tries

Other Thoughts: Overall, I think this is an awesome mechanical keyboard for the Mac, and one of the few available in a Mac layout. It's nice because it has an awesome typing feel, nice backlight and keys, and build quality seems pretty decent. Razer Synapse 2.0 can be annoying, though. It requires an internet connection, otherwise your setting won't work. The macro key recording sometimes can take multiple tries for the macro to register and record to the assign key. I rate it at 4/5.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked wonderful for a month and a half

Pros: Love the backlighting, heavy weight, types like a jet fighter. This was my first mechanical keyboard I ever owned, but the cons will tell the rest of the story. Even though it crapped out on me I gave 4 eggs because while it DID work it was a truly awesome board.

Cons: After a month and a half of flawless performance I got home form work one day and they keyboard simply didn't work....at all. Plugged it into my daughter's laptop, wouldn't even find the driver.

Other Thoughts: This may have been a fluke but for what I paid I'm not too happy that I only got a month and a half out of it, looks like I'll just go back to my trustly old wally world Logitech board, cheap, yet effective.
