5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Amazing switches (blue if I am not mistaken)
-Nice game art design
-Razer Synapse is amazing. Please read what I am about to tell you. You can create multiple profiles on Synapse for this. For Mac I switch the windows and alt keys so that it matches my Macbook Pro's layout (what I'm use to when I use OSX). This keyboard has native support once you install Synapse. Must do. I haven't messed with the macros for PC. I mostly use this on my hackintosh for programming and PC for gaming and everything else.

Cons: -Not worth taking an egg off but this is a dust magnet.

Other Thoughts: I got this and the Taipan combo which included the mouse pad.

5 out of 5 eggsExceptional Build, Razer Quality

Pros: This Battlefield themed Black Widow Ultimate features all of the preceding qualities and outstanding components associated with the standard design. Keystrokes are fluid, the back-lit keys are vibrant and adjustable, and the Cherry MX Blue keys provide a tactile, satisfying experience. The aesthetics of the keyboard itself are very enticing, with a reflective sheen coating graphics that are both appealing and easy to clean. Undoubtedly, this is the best keyboard I have used thus far.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard when it works

Pros: I loved my BlackWidow's while they worked. They keyboard looks and feels great and the software was easy to use.

Cons: 1 year warranty period. A keyboard this expensive should have a 2-3 year warranty.

I had two BlackWidow's and both died after a year, after the warranty expired. I don't abuse them, nobody uses them except me, and nothing was spilled on them.

I bought a Microsoft SIDEWINDER X4 Keyboard, which came with a THREE year warranty at half the prices of the Razer keyboards. Because the MS keyboard is a membrane design, I don't like it as much as the Razer, but it's more than adequate and the warranty is much better. Both are overpriced IMO, but the short warranty on the Razer, and my experience with two failed keyboards, makes it an inferior product. JMHO

Pros: Extremely High Quality and very low price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great keyboard regardless of price but when this puppy went on sale w/ the Taipan mouse, it was a must have.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat quality built keyboard!

Pros: Mechanical keys outlast membrane keys! Personally I like the sound of the keys especially when I am typing essays for school and what not. Reviewers should already know this thing is going to be louder then a regular keyboard, so not sure why all the fuss.

Cons: More illuminated color functions would be nice but the color scheme is Battlefield so its kind of to be expected.

Other Thoughts: I think people need to read more and do their research before harping and ordering something they don't know about. I have owned the previous battlefield 3 keyboard for going on 3 years and never had a jammed key or any problems what so ever with this keyboard. If you don't like how noisy the keyboard is just don't buy it or put your headphones like you should when you game it up because you cant hear anything anyways if you turn you sound up!

1 out of 5 eggsIf you are into that sort of thing

Pros: Backlit

Cons: Makes me feel like I am typing on an IBM-PC. So loud as to be distracting, and the type used for the backlit keyboard is so odd as to be confusing.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice keyboard. Make sure to research that it is the one you want though.

Pros: Very nice feel.
Backlighting is very cool.
Very customizable.
Battlefield 4 theme is awesome.

Cons: It is on the loud side, but they are Cherry Blues, so I am not disappointed. I knew what I was buying.
The USB port on the side doesn't work great.
The finish isn't matted like the regular BlackWidow Ultimate, its glossy.

Other Thoughts: A lot of people here were disappointed with this keyboard for things they could have found out with research. The reason there are two USBs and audio jacks is because the keyboard has a USB, mic, and headphone pass through. You only need to plug in the USB that says RAZER on it for the keyboard to function. Also, the keys are Cherry MX Blues. Those are loud. Look up different mechanical switches and find out what is good for you.

Awesome keyboard. Would definitely recommend, but do your research.

5 out of 5 eggsGame Changer

Pros: -Extremely easy to customize and configure (Both through software and using the FN key)
-Well balanced sensitivity
-LED lighting and font give you that gamer credibility with your friends
-Custom BF4 Paintjob gives it a unique look
-BF4 Dog Tag (Razer Logo)
-Fantastic Price ($99) for a keyboard with extra Macro keys
-Overall build quality and packaging is great
-Nice documentation

Overall I'd say this is a great entry level mechanical keyboard. You get some of the features of the more expensive boards and terrific customization through software. It feels great using it in games and for typing, and I even quite enjoy the louder keystrokes.

For gaming, I feel like the sensitivity to keystrokes is just where it needs to be for speed and multiple tapping. I accidentally bump the tilde key at times when gaming, which is the one key I wish required more pressure.

If you're a fan of Battlefield 4 and are in the market for a new keyboard, I think this has the right price and features to be a definite win. If you're just looking for a good mechanical keyboard for gaming, this one has everything you need (Macro keys, fast response, terrific customization and solid build quality). If you want a mechanical keyboard for typing only, I think there are better options that offer more ergonomics and better layouts.

Cons: ******The F-keys start farther to the right than my previous two keyboards. I'm not entirely sure why there is such a large gap between the Esc and F1, but it takes a little getting used to and honestly is a little bothersome. *******

-Has the USB pass-through and audio jacks are on the right side and low, which make them difficult (for me) to actually use them because of my desk configuration. I list this as a Con because it just seems like having the pass-through on the top would be so much better. It wouldn't interfere with right handed users that have their mouse close to the keyboard.

-The BF4 paint scheme is entirely featured in the lower portion of the keyboard and only maybe half of the available "canvas" is used. It could look better I guess is my point. Much like BF4 itself, the paint job almost seems unfinished hahaha

Other Thoughts: ** My official impression is that I really like the keyboard. It's not perfect, but I'm a big Battlefield fan and it does everything I need it to. This is not a media center keyboard or a keyboard for typists, even though it has those functions. This is a gaming keyboard and should be purchased as such! **

**( Things I couldn't classify as Cons or was undecided about )**

-The BF4 in-game dog tag is difficult to actually make out. If you don't know what it is, you won't guess by looking at it. I doubt I'll use it, but thanks for a freebie :)

-Keys are smaller than a standard keyboard. In the end, for my purposes anyway (gaming mostly), this may end up being a "Pro". Smaller keys = less distance to have to move your fingers... I would say my hands are larger than average size, so it will take a little getting used to.

-Lighting modes are relatively basic (On/Off, Brightness Control and non-reactive Pulsating). If you want the cooler lighting modes, have to go with a Ducky Shine - they are very cool!

-The finish on the keys is a matte finish which gives it a very nice look and feel when they keys are clean. It does show fingerprints a bit and seems to look dirty after moderate usage. In the end, maybe this just means cleaning the keyboard a bit more often - which isn't a bad thing.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Keyboard - Kinda loud, no wrist support

Pros: Sturdy, responsive, and very bright.

Cons: It's loud, but typical of a mechanical keyboard. No included software, you have to download it which is a bit annoying. For the price, a wrist support would be nice.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard with positive tactile feedback

Pros: Backlighting is an A+ on this keyboard; easy to read and very easy to see with many different levels of brightness.

Resistance is great on the keys as well and it is great to type and game on.

As far as the layout goes, it is going to take me a few days to get used to the new keyboard but this is the same with almost any new keyboard you buy, especially when switching from some $10 Logitech keyboard from a local store to an awesome mechanical such as the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate.

The MX Blue keys are pretty loud, so if you have family in the house that the sound of typing would bother, this keyboard might not be for you. It doesn't bother me in the least, and it is kind of nice to be able to hear all of my key presses with an over-ear headset on (though I can't hear the keys while in games or listening to music.)

As for anybody that complains about fonts, volume of key press, backlighting, etc there is no reason to take any of those reviews to heart since those people didn't even research they keyboards or features they would be getting with their new piece of hardware before purchasing it.

The weight of it means it doesn't move around AT ALL unless I want it to.

I would get this keyboard again and I absolutely would recommend it for any gamer! The macro keys are nice!

Cons: I don't have a desk to put it on, but I soon will... For now it is quite comfortable in my lap.

Other Thoughts: Buy this keyboard!
