5 out of 5 eggsThe quietest gaming keyboard!

This review is from: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition Elite Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Pros: Its got the quietest switches along with the shortest reset point and the least actuation force. I put 40-ar o-rings on mine. I did all this because I researched for a year to find that this was the best option for someone who wants a very quiet keyboard for gaming.

Cons: It is not as quiet as the Logitech K800. However the switches are different and the Logitech K800 is not a gaming keyboard and will not have as good of reset point so it will not be as easy to press repeatedly.

Other Thoughts: I ordered this from newegg because it was the best deal for a gaming silent keyboard. After searching for a year or two for the best silent computer set up I traded in my Logitech K800 for the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth. I did this because the Logitech K800 scissor switches failed to trigger when trying to press them very rapidly and repeatedly. I found that the reset point required the scissor switch to come all the way up in order to reset. Where as getting this keyboard and putting o-rings on it allowed me to reduce the bottom out distance and in turn not reduce the time taken to repeatedly hit the keys. All while maintaining a stealth gaming experience, cause you know...happy wife...happy life lol.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best gaming laptop!

This review is from: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition Elite Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Pros: I don't have much to say, as I had been craving this key board for so long. The key board is responsive whenever I make make any task, in work or game, it work perfectly right. I also a study in computer engineering, all the macro key just make the job whole lot easier in every way. In gaming, all the macro key give me an edge for better at winning, as I have try in Dota and Starcraft. Friends have ask me about how this key board function, all I can tell them is: You should buy this key board.

Cons: Not much of the negative side, as I love it too much. Although I with say some time I would wish the key to be closer, cause I have small hands.

Other Thoughts: If you consider to buy one of the key board that going to worth you while? This is the answer you are looking for

2 out of 5 eggsMeh

This review is from: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition Elite Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Pros: Backlit, mechanical, solid, not on fire...that's really about it. It's mostly aluminum, so it's got a nice, solid feel to it.

Cons: The back-lighting is only the primary keys. In other word, anything you need a SHIFT for (semicolon, the entire numerical sequence), you cannot see it in dim lighting.

There are no dedicated media or secondary function keys. You have to hit the FN button to get anything like volume, LED brightness, mute, etc. This is a niggle, but it annoys me to no end.

It's LOUD. In the store/box, the only exposed buttons are the arrow keys, and they were actually kinda muted. Every other key on this thing sounds like you're taking a claw hammer to a square of sheet metal. It's obnoxiously loud.

Like I mentioned, it's made of aluminum. After 10 minutes of light use, it's already covered in fingerprints which tech wipes do nothing for. I know there's a rip in here about how I need to take a shower.

Finally..the whole mechanical thing. I realize now what a gigantic waste of money this is. Modern pad keyboards don't fail like they used to, so the added cost is just wasted.

Seriously, Razer? $130 for a keyboard, and you can't light the ENTIRE key? Or maybe make the outer material out of something that doesn't look like I spread bacon grease on it? Or maybe--Glob forbid--add a couple of standalone volume control buttons?

Other Thoughts: For starters, I didn't buy this from Newegg. Thank glob. Shipping + RMA + goofy, fanboy tech = unhappiness. For the money, you can do SO much better. The Blackwidow works, it's just kinda pointless and expensive...sorta like a $1000 bottle of wine.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Keyboard

This review is from: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition Elite Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Pros: While I was looking around for various keyboards, this one and the non-Stealth keyboard's stood out to me. I went with the Stealth, only because the keys would be a little bit quieter, than the standard keyboard. I knew this would've been a nuisance to the Mrs, so I didn't want to throw more fuel onto the fire, on top of paying for all of my new expensive toys.

One of the biggest benefits is the illuminated keys. I don't need to have the lights on at night, in order to play on the computer or play video games. This makes those late night sessions, that much more enjoyable. While many others has it, and this isn't just something Razaer brings to the table, with this keyboard, it's a huge factor (Which I'll explain in the con section).

I think probably the main reason I went with the Razer keyboard is because I know they make & design high quality keyboards. Now having this keyboard for almost a month, my opinion of them hasn't changed one bit. In fact, I can now see why folks say that once you get Razer stuff, there is no going back to anything else. How the keys, how the keyboard is built, you can't get much better than this.

Cons: My only true con is the spacing of the keys. I know this has to be the case because of the illumination. However, coming from many years of non-illuminated keys, with tighter key placement, I'm having to re-train my brain, into memorizing where these keys are placed.

If I had to put an example to it, I would say it best feels like you're typing on a typewriter. The key placement are about the same, and the typewriter is even mechanical, so it seems to be the best way to explain it. Granted, this isn't a show stopper for me, as I will continue to buy Razer products, from this point forward, it's definitely something to be mindful of, when purchasing this keyboard.

Other Thoughts: While I won't completely state what Newegg did (Thanks again to Daisy T.), but I will say that I've been shopping with Newegg since 2007. I've always valued their inventory as some of the highest in the industry.

The first time I went to them with a concern, they easily resolved my concern, without any questions. That, to me, shows they value their customers, and will go to great lengths to prove it. As such, they've garnered a customer for life, and will be sure to always look at Newegg first.

In regards to the keyboard, if you have the extra cash laying around, I'd say do yourself a favor, spend the extra money, upgrade to this keyboard, and be ready to play video games like never before.

My only warning to you, once you buy the full Razer setup (I currently have this keyboard, with a Naga 2014 MMO mouse, and a Goliathus mouse mat), you'll never want to go back to a standard setup every again.

5 out of 5 eggsI don't think I can go to another keyboard after this...

This review is from: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition Elite Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Pros: - Mechanical Keys
- Nice bright green backlight
- Beautiful font design
- Durable construction (basically no flex whatsoever)
- Braided cable and gold plated connectors

Cons: Problem ONLY with the PC version, The FXX keys all have the hideous white ink on them.
Mac keyboard fixes this, which is the one I accidently bought. Whoops.

- Somewhat difficult to clean, dust and dirt gets under the keys and isn't easy to remove.

Other Thoughts: All in all this is an amazing keyboard, I DEFINITELY recommend you buy it if you're looking for a good, quality Mechanical Keyboard.

Worth every penny.

3 out of 5 eggsRazer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth

This review is from: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition Elite Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

Pros: -LED Backlight to see a lot easier when typing in dark room
-5 Macro Keys to add keyboard functions, shortcuts, hotkeys, etc.
-Fiber Braided Cable to enhance cable protection
-Orange Switches are soft-tactile switch, but not clicky
-45grams actuation force
-10 Key Roll Over

Cons: -Keys feel mushy and hard when typing
-Springs inside the make some weird high-pitch grinding clamp noises even when pressing the keys with less force
-Razer Synapse 2.0 Driver is a joke. It takes too long to download and install the drivers. Sometimes, drivers won't recognize my input device, even though it is already connected properly.
-It doesn't give stupendous tactile feedback and almost sounds like linear switches.
-Razer Synapse Driver requires account to login and sync with clouds, but I don't have very fast internet connection and it lags when I log in.

-There's no palm rest to reduce wrist fatigue.
-There's no toggle LED Backlight brightness On and Off

Other Thoughts: Razer Synapse Driver still needs a lot of work to be coded properly and device and software needs to communicate each other in order to avoid technical issues.
-Orange Switches doesn't sound and feel comfortable and I still prefer German-Engineered Cherry MX Brown Switches.

-Razer synapse should not require account to login since there's no point to sync up with cloud to store settings. It is better to save profile settings inside the firmware, so that users don't have to constantly login and load up with their profiles.

Overall, I don't recommend this mechanical keyboard. Razer should put more time investment in order to make sure that mechanical switches as well as the springs will work and sound properly.

I highly recommend Logitech G710+ since it has 26Key Rollover, excellent ergonomics, decent cherry mx brown switches tactile feedback, and it feels incredibly smooth and soft. Last but not least, it is so easy to download and install the Logitech Gaming Software Driver in few seconds. And, it is a lot easier to navigate and reconfigure mouse and keyboard settings without hassle. No login required!
