Logitech invites you to say hello to gaming excitement with the G11 gaming keyboard. This keyboard went big, and did so with style. With a massive twenty-nine function keys, it integrates a macro key with eighteen G keys to allow on-the-fly programming while still in the game. It also features a unique, but so necessary, off switch for the window key so you will never again be ejected from a game at the worse possible moment.
The 104 keys nestled in the center are where you'd expect, but all keys feature three levels of back glow to make light night gaming sessions that much better. Its time to go to the next level!
Pros: Fantastic features. Typing is a breeze. Lights up! Even non-gamers can use the G buttons to customize their computing experience.
Cons: On windows XP: Your media keys (Volume controls & ff, rw, play & stop) may not work. This is not the logitech hardware. It is a problem with the windows xp registry.
Fix description is here: http://forum.osnn.net/showthread.php?t=88032
Or google search "G11 Media Keys Registry Fix." Took me a long time to find, hopefully I can save someone some time.
This keyboard was only MODERATELY bigger than my logitech media elite keyboard. No real adjustments needed anywhere.
Did not have to re-learn how to type, simply shift yourself right slightly. No steeper a leaning curve than changing to ANY new keyboard.
NO REAL CONS with this hardware. I love it.
Other Thoughts: Negates non-compatability issues with the LCD screen by not including it! This is why I picked this one.
ALWAYS: Save yourself some time and money by google searching for reviews on any product you are thinking about purcashing.

Pros: Back light a GREAT idea. Soft type keys, no more clicky click. the macro keys are great for games and for starting programs withotu tons of shortcuts or hunting down the programs.
Cons: not much difference from the low and high setting for the back light.
Other Thoughts: great keyboard. the marco keys add to its width. not much else to say.

Did you?
Pros: - Good Looking - Quiet, comfortable keys - No LCD screen like the G15 - 18 G-Keys are extremely useful - Practically dirt cheap on sale at Newegg
Cons: - "powers down" sometimes - membrane keyboard - don't expect it to last more than two years - Bulkier than it could have been
Other Thoughts: I have used many keyboards in the search for the perfect experience. I had a G15 for a few years and loved it before it crapped out on me. I went with a Deck Legend keyboard - which had amazing quality - but the typing action was a bit too forceful considering I have CTS and I seriously missed the Gkeys for use in video games or even in the windows environment. With the g19 being too expensive, I had settled on the G110. But then Newegg offered this keyboard for such a completely fair price I could not pass it up. It's the same thing as my old G15 just without the video screen. I'm glad to have my macro buttons back and even though it may not be as sleek or updated as the G110, you can't pass up the fact that they cut down the number of G-keys and for a few more years I'll be able to enjoy 18 of them. Completely fair price for a great keyboard - THANKS newegg. IF YOU ARE A GAMER, YOU NEED THIS KEYBOARD - ALL OTHERS ARE GIMMICKS. Only mechanical keyboards are better.

Good...try #2

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: - Backlight is very nice - Macro keys work like a charm with supplied software - Works with Windows 7 64 bit
Cons: - First one I bought came with two #3 keys on the top row instead of a 3 and a 4.
Other Thoughts: - Newegg RMA process was good, but they wouldn't mail me a new keyboard until I sent the first one back. This was a hassle because I bought this to replace a broken keyboard in the first place.

Best Keyboard I've Ever Used
Reviewed By: Mudget on 11/20/2009
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Backlit, USB ports, macro keys, volume and multimedia buttons, everything laid-out intuitively.
Cons: I have not experienced any of the cons listed in other reviews. I keep my keyboard on my lap, I kick back in my chair, so with the connected palm-rest, it's very ergonomic. The USB ports work for the things I needed them for most (i.e. cordless mouse), but they don't seem powerful enough for a lot of today's technology, like jump drives or MP3 players.
Other Thoughts: This is a fantastic keyboard. I'm on my computer most of the day and night, so transitioning to night is a breeze with the back-lighting, I don't have to ensure lights are on in this room to keep going. The USB ports are very welcome, but I agree, they should have been 2.0. They work for some things, not others. The added macro keys are great and easy to use. This thing worked right off the bat with Windows 7, 64 bit, had no problems whatsoever with compatibility of any features. Volume knob is very welcome. For me, this is truly the perfect keyboard. Hopefully it's rugged and lasts a long while, so I don't have to deal with what others are calling Logitech's abysmal customer service.
