Sharp tools are prerequisites to do jobs, and gaming is no exception. The award-winning Logitech G15 gaming keyboard gives you the tactical advantage over your rivals with industry-leading innovations and guaranteed Logitech quality.
Logitech's G series gaming keyboard was one of the first to incorporate a LCD panel. This add-on provides unprecedented in-game information to speedup your decision and you no longer endeavor to flip through menu windows to locate your status. And you don't have to worry about your game is not supported by the G15. A great bunch of top titles are printed in the support list, including Age of Conan, America's Army, Battlefield 2142, Crysis, EverQuest, F.E.A.R., GTR, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six, Warhammer and World of Warcraft. And more are about to kick off. So you purchase the G15, you purchase the future.
As a top-notch gaming gear, the G15 boasts illuminated characters with three adjustable brightness levels for easy locating of crucial command keys in mid-night, yet not harsh to your eyes. The no-learning-cure 104 key layout is complemented with 29 function keys, six of which are fully programmable. The six programmable G-keys positioned right under your left hand can be assigned to any keystroke on the keyboard or complex macro to execute runs of attacks upon your enemies. You can elaborately define G-key macros in G15 management software before the incoming campaign, or create a macro just in the middle of the battle and instantly launch it without any pause of the action. Focusing all on the gaming side improvements, the G15 is in deed a nuclear weapon in the hands of a serious gamer. It offers all the flexibility and power you could imagine, and the next question is – Are your skills qualified to go that violent?
Pros: It has an LCD screen that is useful for gaming and general computing. That's it. You should buy this keyboard if you haven't owned the original, you have money that is burning holes in your pockets, and you don't care about quality. At least that way you won't know what you're missing out or won't care.
Cons: This keyboard is a definite and obvious downgrade from the original G15. Not only does the screen have a lower resolution, it's SMALLER. Plus, it doesn't even fold down or have any kind of hinge or anything, so you can't adjust the viewing angle. They also didn't bother to upgrade the USB ports to 2.0 for some reason. But that's a moot point because they don't have even enough power for a tiny, no frills 64mb flash drive. About the only thing, and that's if you're lucky, you can plug in to the ports is a mouse (probably NOT an optical or laser, just analog) or another keyboard or key-pad type device. Moreover, the keys are stiff and feel like they are binding. The 'windows key' switch is awkward and hard to move without grasping the keyboard with BOTH hands. Lastly, it's quite obvious that the keys aren't as tough since the space-bar gave out only 4 days after purchasing the keyboard. The plastic cracked.
Other Thoughts: You really should do yourself a favor and just buy the old one. It's cheaper, types better, looks better, has a better LCD (and better support), and is just...ALL AROUND BETTER. The keys are nice and fluid, not too sensitive and not too stiff. Although, I have very large hands so I tend to give keyboards a beating. I can tell though that this keyboard will last a very long time. Oh, and oh yeah, the media buttons and volume control are pretty cr@ppy on this one. They're right on the edge of the screen and are hard as h-e-double-hockey-sticks to push without moving the keyboard all around.

Not as Good as I hoped
Reviewed By: LogitechNoMore on 2/5/2008
Tech Level: high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: Backlite, Built in Macro recording, LCD screen.
Cons: I love my keyboard, BUT after about 3 months I noticed that black color on the keys were rubbing off, leaving nothing but a blank backlite key. After medium use and a year later my keyboard now how several keys with no letters on them. AWSDUIOLMNHT ALL without letters on them.
Other Thoughts: I contacted Logitech about replacing the keys and they refused to do it... even with pictures of the keys from my digicam. I even offered to pay for the keys myself, and they STILL refused. I've got keyboards 10 years old with more use, with the letters still on them.. why is this model faulty?

Pros: -Lighted Keys -LCD Display -Not too big -Macro keys -USB port for mouse or whatever you need to hook up
Cons: None so far!
Other Thoughts: I almost did not buy this keyboard because of some of the reviews... they said that the keys were too bright... That the keyboard fell apart...
I can say that the brightness of the keys is just fine... I have only had this keyboard for a day but have gamed on it for almost 5 hours playing some L4D2 and it feels like it is of good quality.
I will post another review after some time passes to give update on quality.

Great functionality, poor designing from logitech

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
Pros: This keyboard has everything a power pc user needs. Back-lit keys, macro keys that can be programmed on the fly, media keys, extra display, and nice for typing. I am in school and consequently have typed many essays on this keyboard, and have yet to experience pain or fatigue from the keyboard. Comes with a detachable wrist rest to aid comfort should it be needed.
Macro keys are extremely useful once you get used to using them. I wouldn't be hesitant to say the LCD is one of the keyboard's strongest features. It is bright, clear, and has lots of support still. Game manufacturers as well as several online communities still make applets for the g15. I recommend looking for "barloggg's applet" for a completely customizable all in one lcd applet.
Cons: I was a little surprised how flat this keyboard lays on the desk even with the tilt legs out. I was used to a considerable tilt from desk-level. Coming from a dell or Microsoft keyboard you will find the keyboard's depth is much greater as well, even more so with the wrist rest.
Now for the design aspect of this keyboard, I find it HORRIBLE. Firstly the orange can be alright at times, but other times it gives the keyboard an outdated 90s look. Those who argue that blue would affect your night vision are ignoring the fact that you will be staring into a bright monitor anyway. On top of poor color choice, the lighting behind the keys is sub-par as well. My monitor has a 10,000 mcd brightness, and my keyboard sits 6-8 inches in front of it. I can hardly tell the keys are back-lit, not just orange colored, most of the time. This problem may not occur if you have another keyboard/monitor arrangement, but buyers should be aware of it.
Other Thoughts: One of the cheapest back-lit keyboards with a LCD display. Look at your options. Can be impressive with certain applets (media visualizer, system specs).

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Much smaller than the original 15, did I mention its MUUUCH smaller?!
Features are great, the LCD seems a little too fancy but it helps me know what time it is, and what song I am listening too (if Im gaming on full screen, this helps greatly), how much cpu and ram usage I'm using and etc. Its a great feature that isn't limited, so many add-ons available online.
The two USB slots help tremendous, I dont have to worry about my G9 mouse cord getting stucked, and I dont have to reach behind or top of my computer to insert my Flashdrive.
Soft keys, and very QUIET which is a plus.
What I love the most is the macro key that allows me to record key strokes at anytime, even during games.
Cons: 1. Its not free 2. A bit pricey on newegg but I got it here than elsewhere because newegg is just much great cause of its customer service, shipping and very reliable. 3. Its a downgrade from the original G15 but trust me, its a lot smaller and it just makes this price of machinery worth buying (than the original G15)
Other Thoughts: This keyboard is pretty great for its value, I had many gaming keyboards in the past and this one seems the most promising so far.
Shipping was great, just what I had expected from newegg. <3
