5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

Pros: Works as advertised and my wife loves it.

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: Integrates with outlook, plays distinct tone on new mail.

Cons: Received this keyboard as a desktop replacement for my telecommuter setup. After a couple of months the mouse does not hold a charge. Keyboard feet are cheaply made and one has failed. Spacebar is wearing out under use, and now makes a distinct and abrupt 'clunk' sound when typing.

Most annoying of all THERE IS NO NUM LOCK KEY, and the only remap hack/workaround that seemed to be working has been 'patched' in the logitech software.

If this abomination ever comes back in stock for some reason, avoid it!

5 out of 5 eggsSolid, Responsive, Durable.

Pros: High speed Bluetooth connection ensure that your peripherals stay connected and operating at there best.

One touch connect between the Keyboard, Mouse, and Receiver makes getting your input devices working a snap.

The receiver is capable of connecting additional BT devices like your phone or other device.

The keyboard is pretty silent. I type at 70-80WPM and can put 100,000+ keystrokes into the system on any given day while programming. I hardly hear the keys being pressed, and the response time is very fast.

The mouse as a built in LiIon battery which hold a charge through several long days of working / playing games.

Mouse buttons are programmable per application. I have custom mouse profiles for most of the games which I play. This configuration is very flexible. For instance I can play Diablo 3 without ever using my keyboard, unless I need to chat something. I have custom hotkeys setup for Photoshop, Eclipse, and Dreamweaver also.

I have owned two of these sets for over a year now and they are still taking whatever I can dish out. Given the longevity of most electronics these days, and the amount of use my keyboard goes under the fact that its lived this long is impressive to me.

Cons: The receiver does not support A2DP protocol so if your planning to use a pair of bluetoooth headphones or a bluetooth headset you will need an adapter that brings support for that protocol.

If you change the adapter to "Connect other BT Devices" mode in setpoint it can cause trouble getting the mouse working correctly in some UEFI BIOS. In default mode this does not happen.

Other Thoughts: I have seen people spend thousands of dollars on a top notch gaming PC and then connect junk keyboard and mouse to them. That just doesn't make sense. If your going to be using your computer on a serious level you need input devices to reflect that. Treat yourself to a top notch keyboard and mouse and see if it doesn't brighten your day behind the desk.

The mouse has a battery indicator on the side so you know well in advance that it needs to be charged. I have two of these but they charge so quickly and last so long that I only have a single charging cradle setup on our desk.

I am already very satisfied with my purchase in this keyboard and mouse. I have also personally recommended this to several friends, one like it so much she bought 2 more for her kids.

Point blank is it worth it? If it died today I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another.

Pros: was a great keyboard and mouse. i will miss it. it lasted me just under 2years. logitech relaced it with performance mouse mx and k750 solar keyboard. just got them yesterday. like them so far. hope like them as much as mx5500. they dont make it no more. keyboard is heavier and has no room on edges to grab keyboard. only thing i dont like about it so far.

Cons: none

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth the money

Pros: - Bluetooth
- Stylish
- Good Battery life

Cons: - Keyboard keys stick unless pressed *directly* on center
- Mouse input frequently becomes "jumpy" and requires a reconnect
- Bluetooth connection occasionally drops out for a second then reconnects
- Range feels very poor as mouse becomes less responsive at more than about 3 feet
- Poor price/performance
- Worst warranty service I've *ever* had the displeasure of experiencing

Other Thoughts: Bought this combo new and within 3 months the mouse wheel had become loose/wobbly. Contacted Logitech to RMA and of course have to ship the entire combo back.

- Week 1: Send the entire combo and use an old keyboard/mouse
- Week 2: No replacement. Call and they say "Oops! we forgot to submit the order!"
- Week 3: No replacement. Call and they say "Oh no! The last guy did the order wrong!"
- Week 4: Oh look! I get *only* the Bluetooth USB dongle! Call back again!
- Week 5: Replacement finally arrives.

At no point does Logitech offer anything to sweeten this raw deal. No upgraded shipping, no coupon, nothing.

I can't recommend this to anyone. Especially not at this price point. The keyboard/mouse this replaced was a Logitech Cordless MX Duo that I had for years. I only replaced the Duo because I had worn all the mouse feet down to the plastic. Couldn't have been more disappointed.

4 out of 5 eggsConnectivity Issues

Pros: Full size BT keyboard, tilt wheel mouse with thumb zoom and search button. Keyboard has a neat LCD display that provides useless tidbits like keystrokes and ambient temperature

Cons: Connectivity issues. I use this in a conference room at work and, while the mouse stays connected after the computer is woken from sleep, the keyboard's connection needs to be reset. This is an awkward procedure involving removing the BT dongle and hitting the red reconnect button on the back of the keyboard...very frustrating when you're running behind and need to do this dance in front of a crowd of F500 executives...

Other Thoughts: If if weren't for the lousy connection issues I would give this keyboard/mouse combo 5 eggs. As it is, I give the keyboard 3 and the mouse 5, avg 4. I've been a big fan of logitech interface devices, and the issues experienced here haven't deterred me.

4 out of 5 eggsgood combo

Pros: Bluetooth wireless, rechargeable mouse battery, very long life keyboard battery utilization

Cons: i did have to have the keyboard replaced once during the first year, under warranty because the lcd screen stopped working. had to ship entire kit to Logitech with a return shipping label they provided, leaving me using my old wired keyboard/mouse while i waited.

Other Thoughts: i bought this mouse/keyboard combo on 4/8/2011, i have only had to replace the 4 AA batteries in the keyboard twice, easily get 6+ months out of the batteries with daily use, mouse lasts 7+ days on a single charge with frequent daily use.

3 out of 5 eggsGood mouse but the keyboard...

Pros: Bluetooth, excellent mouse, very long battery life

Cons: The keys of the keyboard have started to become stiff after a few months. Now they are so stiff that sometimes the key simply won't budge if I don't press it hard enough.

I also hate the non-remappable calc button. When you press it, the num pad and the keyboard's screen becomes your calculator. You have to press the calc button again to revert to normal. This is pretty annoying, as you end up forgetting the keyboard in calc position and when you try to type some numbers in the computer, it does not work. I thought i could remap the keyboard key to use the windows calculator, but no, you can't do that!

The functions of the keyboard screen are silly, except maybe for the hour. Other functions are "now playing", room temperature, shortcut list, and type counter since last battery replacement.

Logitech replaced the caps lock indicator light with a high pitch beep when you turn caps on and a lower pitch beep when you turn caps off. So when you type a password, you have to press caps lock twice to hear the beeps and make sure it is not on. Ridiculous.

Bottom line, the keyboard is pretty disappointing.

Other Thoughts: I bought this combo mainly to use the bluetooth mouse with my laptop. This works perfectly. Reverting the connection from the laptop to the dongle (which is permanently plugged in my office computer) works very well.

I wish Logitech would sell the mouse alone...

2 out of 5 eggsNumlock

Pros: Seems well built.

Cons: Keyboard is missing numlock key. In its place is "Clear calc" which transmits as backspace. Dealing with support usually ends up with you being told you don't need a numlock key, or to open the on-screen keyboard to use it. Im still researching work arounds (the one i found had been 'fixed' through a firmware update and using tweak-key will rebind your backspace too), but if you use software that utilizes the numlock key (ie vmware) steer clear of this device. Logitech has 'innovated the key away.

If i cant find a fix soon, ill be RMA'ing and looking elsewhere.
