Great Wireless Gaming Setup
- Pros: Flawless, lagfree, dropfree key input. I tested it out on a bunch of twitch games vs. my wired kb and there was zero difference.
It also passes the mash test, which is a pretty good indicator of what you can expect from gaming actually. The mouse was tight too, though I didn't quite get used to it yet. I didn't test the range, but I had the dongle in the top usb port of my case which is beneath a solid oak desk. Did I mention the connection was flawless? Most wireless kb's will have the slightest lag to them that most people won't notice. If you'd hit jump, it acts almost like an alley-oop (for lack of a better term). It almost jumps by the time you release the key, instead of when it's first pressed. You can read up on all the features, but out of the 4 different wireless kb's I tested (Wave, MX3200, Pro 2800) this is the only one really worthy of gaming on. Oh, the palm rest is really comfy too... It feels almost leathery, but you can depress it with a moderate squeeze.
- Cons: HUGE! This thing is twice the size of the kb I'm typing on now. We're talking snowboard!
Mouse is overly ergo, and though it has the responsiveness and DPI for gaming, I was struggling. It more or less requires you to hold it a certain way and my tracking was all out of whack (would spin and find myself looking at the floor). It's not the mouse's fault, but I've put thousands of hours into more traditinally shaped mice and my muscle memory was fighting this one hard. I was kind of getting used to it, and was becoming pleased until...
- Other Thoughts: ...my wife made me return it! My gaming computer is our main computer, and being the nice guy I am let her have a more standard-shaped wireless setup. I miss my Wave. I miss it because I'm WEAK!
Seriously though, it doesn't only get buy as a gaming keyboard, it excels! Some logi's keyblock poorly (can't hit w,a,space or keypad 8,6,enter), but this one has no such problems. If logi would come out with a more normal form factor with the exact same polling rate from the kb (frequency it sends data, not the rate at which it can send it), I'm all over it. Oh, and I felt the key layout was fine for typing. It felt a bit different, but was transparent to me after an hour or so.
So, strange new computer desk begging for wireless but you're a gamer? Fear not! The Wave Pro is the ticket!
*purchase was not from Newegg since I've been having to buy/return for ages trying to find the right setup.
Excellent combination
- Pros: High quality components. Keyboard is comfortable but the design is not outlandish. Excellent signal quality. MX1100 rechargeable mouse has most of the benefits of the MX Revolution with none of the weaknesses. Single USB receiver for both devices. No lag. Lower price than the MX5500.
- Cons: Keyboard is not backlit, which would have been nice, and the mouse could stand another button for this user. It gives up some features to the MX5500 set.
- Other Thoughts: It came down to this vs the MX5500 for me. This is an excellent set. It's a RF unit, not Bluetooth, so you trade potential for lag with potential for signal issues versus a Bluetooth unit. That said, I have not seen any reception problems with the dongle up front (hanging from the side of my monitor which has USB ports) even as far away as 15 feet. The MX1100 is different from the standalone version - it uses a standard rechargeable, replaceable AA battery, and it charges with a USB cord that plugs into the front of the mouse making that cable act just like a cord for a typical corded mouse - Brilliant! The keyboard is similar to the standalone model, but wireless. Price is not much different vs. buying the two items separately, however the benefits (rechargeable mouse, wireless keyboard, single USB receiver) are tangible. This is an excellent package, and overall I prefer it over the MX5500.

Finally got rid of those pesky cables !!
- Pros: I just love this wireless. I used an infrared for awhile but that needed to be " looking at " the receiver in a fairly narrow angle. This is fantastic !!!
- Cons: non
- Other Thoughts: I love it !!!
Great for Gaming
- Pros: AMAZING ERGONOMICS. This keyboard conforms to the controls and tactile feedback needed to excel in Miami Shark. For those of you unfamiliar with it, what an amazing first person killer.
- Cons: None. Simply Stunning...o-m-g
- Other Thoughts: Get it....Now.
Couldn't be happier with this combo
- Pros: KEYBOARD (lots of use for almost a month): the layout of the keys and the palm pad make this the most comfortable keyboard I've every had the pleasure of using; all the hotkey features on the board are great; battery life is unbelievable; range appears to be excellent (been about 15' from receiver and haven't had any problems) MOUSE (even more use than the keyboard): quite comfortable as well (nothing like a standard mouse); all the buttons and customablity are a huge plus; extreme precision (variable with adjustable dpi); battery life is super, I've gone a little over two days of high usage on one charge but I usually plug it in every night before going to bed; range is as excellent as the keyboard, I can kick back on the couch, surf or play games (haven't had any noticable lag)
- Cons: None for me, the keyboard is HUGE though, but I don't think it would be as nice if it was any smaller. May not be suitable for anyone with a small desktop area. Although, it's really no larger than a standard keyboard with a gel pad palm rest. And hey, it's wireless, so one could just kick back and rest it on their lap. I do from time to time. I can't elaborate any on 2.4GHz or wireless n band interference, as our house uses g,b band wireless, and has no cordless phones.
- Other Thoughts: I was somewhat skeptical at first when I ordered this combo. But, after using this close to a month now for hours on end, I'm really glad this is the one I decided to go with.
